Savannah Guthrie’s Mom Shared Last Facebook Update Days Before She Disappeared

Nancy Guthrie, the mother of “TODAY” host Savannah Guthrie, has been missing for more than 24 hours after disappearing from her home in Arizona on Saturday, January 31.

Just days before her disappearance, Nancy shared an update to her public Facebook profile.

Nancy Guthrie’s Last Facebook Update

The 84-year-old, who celebrated her birthday on January 27th, took to her public Facebook profile that same day to share an update.

Nancy reshared a video of Alex Pretti being honored at the Minnesota VA hospital where he worked. In the clip, Pretti’s body, draped with an American flag, was wheeled through the halls of the hospital as doctors and nurses lined the halls.

Nancy did not add a caption to her social media post.

Earlier that day, she reshared another video. This time, it was an informative clip about Mahjong.

The mother of three did not have a public Instagram profile.

Nancy Guthrie Was Reported Missing

Guthrie was reported missing around noon on Sunday, February 1. She was last seen late Saturday evening at her home outside of Tucson, Arizona.

“Her stuff was left behind at the house: keys, ID, purse, phone. Everything,” Daily Mail reported on Monday, February 2. “It’s not a situation where she voluntarily went away, because she didn’t take any of the things you would normally take if you voluntarily went out.”

According to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, “We do in fact have a crime.”

“We saw some things at the home that were concerning to us,” she said during a press conference. “We believe now after we’ve processed that crime scene that we do in fact have a crime scene…We’re asking the community’s help.”

“TODAY” host Jenna Bush Hager revealed on Monday that Nancy is without her life-saving medication.

“I know her personally. And we want to just report, too, that she takes daily medication and she needs them for survival,” Hager said. “She’s without her medication. We are thinking of our dearest, dearest Savannah and her whole family right now in our prayers.”

Savannah Guthrie Releases Statement

The “TODAY” host, who was absent from her normal morning show spot on Monday, February 2, released a statement following her mother’s disappearance.

“On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and messages of support,” the statement read. “Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom.”

She added, “We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”

In addition to Savannah, Nancy shares daughter Annie and son Camron with her late husband Charles Guthrie.
