Bethenny Frankel Shares ‘Disaster’ Update After Contracting Bacterial Infection

Former “Real Housewives of New York” star Bethenny Frankel, 55, arrived back from her recent St. Barths vacation with a horrendous bacterial infection on her face after ringing in the New Year.

Following revelations of her condition, Frankel took to Instagram on Tuesday, Dec. 6, to give fans an update on the state of her infection. The Bravo star posted a video of herself lounging in bed in pajamas while she pointed closely at the red bumps all over her face.

Bethenny Frankel Refers to Her Bacterial Infection as ‘Vile’

Although she said she already used a “strong” dose of antibiotics, Frankel referred to her current condition as “vile.”

Not only did the Skinnygirl founder contract a bacterial infection, but her daughter, Bryn, 15, did as well. “My daughter has the same thing,” she shared. “[Pus-filled] bumps all over her face. This is the second time it’s happened in a nice hotel or a rental home.”

Frankel went on to vow that she would “develop a solution to this,” adding, “People always talk about, ‘How could you take a bath in a hotel room?’ How could you sleep on the sheets? Disgusting!”

She continued, “I came home early from my trip… that wasn’t the only reason, but certainly, that was a factor. For real, like this is it. I don’t ever break out. Mess. Disaster. Look at under my eyes — it’s disgusting. Bathroom towels, sheets, all of it — they hold bacteria — it’s vile.”

Many fans poured into her comments to suggest alternative remedies, while others sent her warm wishes for a speedy recovery. Some followers even suggested she start a business for reparative products for facial bacterial infections.

In her original post about her bacterial infection, shared on January 4, Frankel said that while she left St. Barths in a tizzy, she was thankful to have spent the New Year’s with her daughter.

“I spent special time with friends and my love, Bryn, and rang in the new year in a way that felt genuinely meaningful, surrounded by good people,” she expressed to her 4 million Instagram followers.

Frankel continued, “This trip reminded me of something I’ve always known but sometimes forget: it’s not about what you’re doing, it’s about who you’re with. And real happiness doesn’t come from the setting, the plans, or the noise, it comes from within.”
