Jasen Kaplan, who was a contestant on “Finding Prince Charming” in 2016, has tragically passed away at the age of 46.
Page Six reports that he died in a hospital in New York City on Dec. 31, just a few hours before the ball dropped in Times Square. The New York Police Department told the outlet that they are “investigating the death of a 46-year-old man at Kaplan’s Hell’s Kitchen apartment building and that the chief medical examiner will determine the cause of death.”
“He was a great artist, and a sweet guy,” a longtime friend told the outlet. “When people started working with him, they often stayed with him for years.”“He really was important to a lot of people,” another insider added. “Some of his clients had been with him more than 20 years. They’re going to take it very hard.”
Kaplan had a strong following on social media with over 95.4K followers on Instagram. He also was on “Finding Prince Charming,” which was a gay bachelor-style dating show that aired in 2016. Kaplan was eliminated in episode two.

Kaplan began by working with Brittny and Lisa Gastineau on their 2005 show “Gastineau Girls,” which was a reality show that debuted on the E! in 2005 but was canceled after two seasons on air. He has since worked with many incredible celebrities, including Kelly Osbourne, Eva Longoria, Lynda Carter, and Cyndi Lauper.
Page Six added that Kaplan was “especially close with Bethenny Frankel, Tinsley Mortimer, Lydia Hearst, and Obsourne.”
Kelly Osbourne Pays Tribute To Jasen Kaplan
Osbourne took to her Instagram story on Thursday, January 1, posting a series of photos of herself and Kaplan.
“I’m devastated. I love you so much @JasenKaplan,” Osbourne captioned the post. “Thank you for all the love, laughter and joy you brought [to] my life. I hope you are at peace now. Life will never be the same without you! RIP my dear friend.”
“No one was as funny as you!” she added. “You were the best wing man a girl could ask for. 25 years of friendship and every second was worth it.”
She also made a promise to Kaplan to help watch over someone who was very important to him.
“@JasenKaplan I promise to make sure Coco is always looked after,” Osbourne said in a separate Instagram Story, sharing a photo of Kaplan in bed with his dog. “I will forever miss our late night FaceTimes!”




I think that you, Miss. Osbourne are a truly remarkable young woman. I watched you on ” The Osbournes ” . I was also a Die Hard fan of your father. What I just read, about what you said about your friend is ” Beautiful ” you two must have had a wonderful relationship. In time you will heal from this. I do realize that you have just lost two very important people in your life in a calendar year. My prayers 🙏 and blessings to you. You will be in my thoughts.
