Janice Dickinson is bravely revealing the condition her face was left in after she suffered a scary accident while filming the reality show “I’m a Celebrity…South Africa.”
The incident occurred in 2022, when Dickinson had an alarming fall while shooting the show. TMZ says they were told by sources that the supermodel was left “absolutely devastated” after being told her face was “permanently deformed” and she sustained nerve damage.
The outlet also says they were told Dickinson felt “humiliated” by the accident, and was unable to speak out for several years due to her pending lawsuit, while people speculated online about whether she’d had a stroke due to her changed face. The report says the sources also revealed the 70-year-old “loved” participating in the show, but “this wasn’t what she signed up for.”

A January 15 Daily Mail report says the outlet discovered from legal documents in the lawsuit Dickinson has filed against the show’s network, ITV, that she says she had taken sleeping medications given to her by an ITV medic before tripping in the dark while trying to find the toilet at the show’s jungle camp.
The report says she was forced to quit the gig after the fall caused injuries not only to her face, but to her head as well.
In her lawsuit, the star is citing “permanent facial deformities and nerve damage” among her damages. The papers allege the medications she was given can cause drowsiness and impaired balance, making her “particularly vulnerable” while navigating the camp at night.
The report also says sources close to Dickinson say her injuries have had a negative impact on her modeling career.
The outlet says an ITV spokesperson gave them a comment which reads in part, “Janice Dickinson’s letter of claim has been received and reviewed. IAC operates a high level of safety protocols and the health, safety and welfare of all of our contributors are our number one priority.”

Dickinson’s tumble in the jungle is not the first time she has been hurt while appearing on the “I’m a Celebrity” franchise. Years ago, she was a contestant on “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” and had to see the medic after injuring her tailbone. “What did I just do?” she sobbed while being checked over.
A fellow contestant who witnessed the fall explained, “She took a sip of water, and she flipped right over and landed on her coccyx.” Dickinson was also shown grabbing her knee, suggesting she injured it too.
NBC 6 also reported back in 2009 that the supermodel had to temporarily exit the Costa Rican wilderness, where she was competing in season 2 of the program’s U.S. version, to be treated for a viral infection.
