Jenny McCarthy Reveals ‘Living Hell’ Health Battle After Mold Toxicity Diagnosis

Jenny McCarthy is opening up about a frightening health journey she describes as a “living hell,” revealing that a series of unexplained symptoms were ultimately traced back to mold toxicity and mycotoxin poisoning.

In an episode of Maria Menounos’ “Heal Squad” podcast, McCarthy detailed the months-long ordeal that left her searching for answers.

“The last time I was here I was literally on my way to the biological dentist because I had gone through six months of living hell,” she shared.

McCarthy Shares Her Health Struggles

According to McCarthy, the issues began with what seemed like a routine dental procedure gone wrong.

“An infected root canal” set off a chain reaction after it wasn’t fully cleaned, leading to a jawbone infection.

She described having “three of these little toxic pools hiding underneath my wisdom teeth,” which continued to cause complications.

The situation escalated quickly. “The Masked Singer” judge said she dealt with recurring infections and underwent multiple procedures, recalling, “I’m on surgery, like, number eight.”

She later revealed she had nine oral surgeries in 2025 alone.

But the symptoms didn’t stop there. She began noticing unusual growths on her eye, which she described as looking like the “nastiest whitehead, puss-filled eraser top.”

After having the growth surgically removed, it returned just weeks later—kicking off a frustrating cycle.

“I’m like, ‘What the heck is this?’ They’re like you’re not washing your eyes enough. I’m like [expletive],” she said.

McCarthy Had a Series of Dental Issues as Well

At the same time, her dental issues persisted, with infections continuing and implants being rejected.

Desperate for answers, McCarthy turned to a functional medicine doctor who encouraged deeper testing.

That’s when the root cause was finally uncovered.

“The reason why you’re having constant infections, your body won’t heal, you’re oozing things is because you have mold. You have mycotoxin poisoning,” she recalled being told.

Mycotoxins—harmful substances produced by mold—can impact the body in serious ways, particularly for individuals with underlying health conditions.

McCarthy explained that her immune system struggles made her especially vulnerable.

“I have a certain mold that causes seizures,” she said. “[My doctor] goes, ‘If this thing that you’ve got crosses the blood brain barrier you’re going to be in the hospital having seizures.’”

She also revealed another alarming development: “I became antibiotic resistant last year,” adding that the toxins rendered treatments ineffective, contributing to her repeated infections.

Now, McCarthy says she’s undergoing an intensive treatment plan to address the issue.
