‘Survivor’ 50 Brings Real-Life Idol Hunt to Every U.S. State

Ever dreamed of playing “Survivor” without flying to Fiji, starving on a beach, or worrying about what’s making its way through the sand at night? To celebrate its milestone 50th season, CBS is bringing the adventure to you. For the first time ever, “Survivor” is launching a nationwide, real-world challenge that hides official immunity idols in all 50 U.S. states. “Survivor” 50 is inviting fans everywhere to outwit, outplay, and outlast from their own backyard.

Be Part of the ‘Survivor’ Fun

Host Jeff Probst made the big announcement in a very scenic video. He says, of course, that “Survivor” is hitting a major milestone next season: the 50th season.

In the video, Probst said, “And to celebrate, we are inviting you to be part of the fun. For the first time ever, we are taking ‘Survivor’ across America. We have hidden immunity idols, 50 of them, one in every state. Your job: solve the clues, find the idol for a shot at an unbelievable prize.”

While you won’t be part of the “Survivor” 50 cast, you can still be part of the fun.

How Does the ‘Survivor’ 50 Challenge Work?

So, how does this new challenge work? This challenge will begin on January 30, 2026, according to a CBS press release.

CBS said, “Turning all 50 states into the setting for an immersive multi-week scavenger hunt: each hiding one official immunity idol.”

If you want to take part in this fun challenge, you must visit Survivor50Challenge.com to sign up for alerts as to “when the clue will drop in your state” as well as “challenge details, updates, rewards, and exclusive content.”

For those “Survivor” fans who happen to find one of the idols, you must then submit a photo of yourself wearing the idol. Once you do that, you will be immediately entered into a grand prize sweepstakes.

While the press release didn’t say what the grand prize would be, they did state that “one additional winner will be selected through an online component of the Survivor 50 Challenge Hub.”

The search for the 50 idols will come to an end, and the ultimate winner announcement will all lead up to the three-hour premiere of “Survivor” 50 on February 25, 2026, on CBS.

Testing Yourself

This challenge is all about making the fans feel more involved. Giving them a chance to feel like they are part of the show.

Probst said, “‘Survivor’ has always been about testing yourself — solving problems, facing the unknown, and finding out what you’re made of. For 25 years, fans have watched players take that journey. Now, with the Survivor 50 Challenge, we’re letting fans try it for themselves! This goes way beyond finding idols; it’s a chance to step into the game like never before. America has watched players outwit, outplay, and outlast for decades – now it’s your turn. The hunt is on. Time to dig deep!”

Good luck to everyone taking part in the ‘Survivor’ 50 Challenge.
