With “Survivor” 50 bringing together legends, winners, and some of the most dangerous players the game has ever seen, one returning castaway is already thinking several steps ahead. The “Survivor” alum recently opened up about which castaways they see as potential allies on “Survivor” 2026 and which ones might need to be cut loose before they become too powerful. Check out the details below in our “Survivor” spoilers.
Allies for ‘Survivor’ 50
Jonathan Young, who played on “Survivor” season 42, sat down and talked with Parade about the “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans” castaways and who he would be friends with or foes with.
Based on that conversation, here are some of the friends Young would consider heading into “Survivor” 50:
- Jenna Lewis-Dougherty (Borneo & All-Stars) – He said she seems down to earth, and he’d like to work with her.
- Colby Donaldson (The Australian Outback, All-Stars, & Heroes vs. Villains) – Young thinks he’s a straight shooter, so he’d love to work with him.
- Cirie Fields (Panama – Exile Island, Micronesia – Fans vs. Favorites, Heroes vs. Villains & Game Changers) – He said friend and then foe, as she is so good and so scary.
- Ozzy Lusth (Cook Islands, Micronesia – Fans vs. Favorites, South Pacific, & Game Changers) – Young said friend, but then is hoping they put him up against Ozzy in a challenge to see who the true challenge beast is.
- Chrissy Hofbeck (Heroes v. Healers v. Hustlers) – He said she is a challenge beast. She is also a good player and a good person to have on your side.
With that in mind, Jonathan did reveal which castaway he’d love to be his number one for season 50. That would be Stephenie LaGrossa Kendrick (Palau, Guatemala, & Heroes vs. Villains). He told Parade that seeing her on other reality TV shows made him want to play with her even more.
He said Stephenie can’t lie, and she says what she thinks all the time. She’s energetic and outgoing, so he wants to have a close ally in her.
Castaways He’s Keeping an Eye On
On the flip side of things, there are some castaways on “Survivor” season 50 that Jonathan doesn’t want to work with. The three standouts are:
- Aubry Bracco (Kaôh Rōng, Game Changers & Edge of Extinction) – He said they don’t have the same energy in the game, and they won’t mix well together. He thinks she comes off as standoffish in the game, and that normally means something.
- Rick Devens (Edge of Extinction) – Young thinks Rick is scary. He said he would work with him for a minute, but then cut him as a foe. He thinks Rick is sneaky.
- Dee Valladares (45) – Young said you can’t do everything that she did and think she doesn’t have a target on her back. He said if she wanted to work with him, he would. However, he thinks Dee is going to be dangerous because she won the game, and she’s very good.
“Survivor” season 50 premieres on Wednesday, February 25, at 8/7c. New episodes will be available to stream the next day on Paramount+.
