Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are still basking in the glow of their engagement and have not yet started planning their nuptials.
“They are not in the wedding planning phase yet,” a source shared with People. “Taylor and Travis have been in celebration mode ever since the engagement.”
The star couple announced the big news in a joint Instagram post on August 26, which featured them in Kelce’s backyard surrounded by flowers and Kelce down on one knee. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” the caption read.
Kelce had popped the question around two weeks prior to the announcement, according to his father. “Travis actually did the proposal maybe two weeks—not quite two weeks ago,” Ed Kelce shared with ABC News 5 Cleveland.
People’s source explained, “It has been a relief not having to keep it a secret anymore, and they are glad it is out in the open.”
Swift & Kelce’s Families Have Been Celebrating With Them
Swift and Kelce are enjoying their engagement, and their families are super excited for them. “Both families are overjoyed,” the source shared. “There were toasts, happy tears and everyone is thrilled for them.”
Kelce’s mom, Donna, is especially thrilled and has been holding on to keepsakes for the couple. “Donna is already saving little things from this time like photos, notes and flowers,” the source said. “She wants to remember every detail, so she has been holding onto mementos from their first days as an engaged couple.”
“She is very sentimental about it,” they added.
The couple’s friends have been celebrating them as well, “stopping by and sending little gifts. It has all been intimate, nothing over the top.”
Swift & Kelce Have Been Doing Some Future Planning
While the happy couple may not be planning their wedding just yet, it seems they are looking ahead to their shared future. Earlier this week a source revealed to Us Weekly that Swift and Kelce are thinking about starting a family sooner rather than later.
“Their dream is to have kids,” the source shared, suggesting that the timing seems right in terms of Swift’s professional life. “She’s in a great space in her career and with her success and she can take some time away.”
As for her career, Swift has slowly been releasing new cover art for her upcoming “The Life of a Showgirl” album which is set to drop on October 3. A lot of the imagery features the color orange which Swift explained the significance of during an appearance on Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.
“It feels like kind of energetically how my life has felt,” the pop star explained.
