King Charles has surely faced plenty of unexpected situations during his many years of making public appearances. However, an incident that just took place in Northern Ireland may be one that the royal remembers for quite a while. That’s because it involved a bird leaving him an unwanted gift. That’s right, a seagull pooped on the king!
King Charles Didn’t Seem Bothered by the Seagull Poop
Members of the British royal family need to know how to deal with a wide range of potential experiences, including unexpected mishaps … like being pooped on by a bird that happens to be flying overhead.
“King Charles just got crapped on in Northern Ireland … a seagull welcomed him to a seaside town with a fresh load of poop falling from the sky,” according to TMZ. “The monarch was visiting Newcastle on Wednesday when a gull soaring overhead took a deuce that fell to Earth and landed on the King’s jacket.”
“Video shows King Charles walking around town greeting residents with a huge blob of white and brown bird poop on his clothing,” TMZ explained.
Granted, the royal didn’t seem to be too bothered by the rather icky incident. In fact, he didn’t even take off his jacket or try to wipe off the poop. Instead, he had a bit of a cheeky reaction, telling the crowd, “At least it didn’t land on my head.”
In fact, when TMZ shared a post about the situation on Instagram, plenty of people left comments pointing out that being pooped on by a bird is supposed to be good luck!
Even Royals Suffer Wardrobe Malfunctions
GettyKing Charles isn’t the first member of the royal family to deal with a clothing-related mishap. In fact, there have been a few wardrobe malfunctions over the years, especially when it comes to the ladies.
“From see-through clothing to wrinkled dresses, the royal women have faced it all,” according to Women.com.
For instance, Women.com notes that “[w]hen Kate Middleton visited the Henry Fawcett Children’s Centre in 2019, she wore a silk blouse. The color of the blouse was a gorgeous purple, and it even had a bow necktie. You may be wondering what seems to be the problem, since the color, fabric, and style of the blouse all seem fine. The answer to that is the blouse is on backwards!”
The Sun also mentioned an incident that involved Meghan Markle, telling readers that “[i]n October 2018 during the final day of her New Zealand tour, the Duchess of Sussex wore a gorgeous pleated skirt by Givenchy.”
Although the item was certainly lovely, The Sun explains that “her outfit was a lot more revealing than she may have anticipated as it proved to be completely sheer in certain lighting. Luckily she had a pair of rather large knickers on underneath, saving her from any further embarrassment.”
Granted, The Sun did point out that “[t]hese days sheer has become quite a trend, so maybe she was just ahead of the curve.”
