Snoop Dogg Tearfully Reacts to Daughter’s Song for His Late Grandbaby Codi Dreaux

Following the death of Snoop Dogg’s granddaughter Codi Dreaux, the rapper’s daughter, Cori Broadus, who is the mother of Codi, released a song for her late daughter.

Broadus released her track titled “Codi” on Saturday, Feb. 28, approximately one month after Codi’s devastating death in January of this year.

On the day her song dropped, Snoop Dogg’s daughter shared an ultrasound photo on her Instagram set to the tune of her newly released track, available on all platforms.

“Nobody could’ve prepared me for something like this,” Broadus captioned her post. “I started this song after I had her, not knowing one day I’d have to finish it after she transitioned.”

Broadus went on to wish her daughter, who was born premature at six months on Feb. 28, 2025, a happy heavenly birthday. “Happy Birthday, Codi Dreaux 🤍🦋,” she wrote. “Codi is streaming on all platforms.”

Snoop Dogg tearfully reacted to his daughter’s emotive song honoring her daughter, taking to the comments to write, “😢🙏🏾💔.”

Broadus’ daughter, Codi, was admitted to the NICU after she was born three months early. Codi spent 20 loving days at home with her mom and dad, Wayne “Deuce” Polk, before she passed away, E! News reported. Although an official cause of death was not released to the public, Broadus was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome, a severe, life-threatening pregnancy complication, resulting in Codi’s premature birth.

When Codi was born, Broadus shared a heartbreaking Instagram post in which she expressed grief over the unexpected tragedy. “The princess arrived at 6 months,” she captioned her post. “I’ve cried and cried, I’ve compared and compared, blaming myself because I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed. But no matter what God always shows me that He got me! Thank You God for getting me this far 🙏 #nicubaby #25weeks.”

Broadus went on to share bits of her experience as a NICU mom, taking to Instagram in September 2025 to talk about her daughter’s remarkable strength. “Becoming a NICU mom was not part of the plan, but it became part of my story,” she wrote on Instagram. “I carry my little warrior’s strength with me every day.”

In February, Broadus and Polk laid their daughter to rest surrounded by their closest family and friends. Broadus shared a 9-photo Instagram carousel of moments from Codi’s funeral, captioning the post, “part of me went with you, my girl for life.”
