Cori Broadus, the daughter of rapper Snoop Dogg, shared a deeply emotional message on Instagram Stories in the wake of the heartbreaking loss of her 10‑month‑old daughter, Codi Dreaux, expressing that she wishes the tragedy were “just a bad dream” as she continues to grieve and process the devastating announcement.
Cori’s Heartbreaking Instagram Stories
The stories were shared on Sunday, Feb. 1, and showed a black‑and‑white video of Cori holding her daughter during an extended stay in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), Cori wrote over the photo that she was “waiting for someone to tell me to wake up and this is just a bad dream.”
Another heartfelt video showed her lying beside her baby, Codi, with text that reflected the profound sorrow of losing a child: “You were supposed to bury me… not me bury you Codi.”
Her caption conveyed an immeasurable depth of grief that few parents ever anticipate or try to articulate.
Codi was born prematurely in February 2025 at just 25 weeks gestation.
Codi spent 10 months in the NICU, where Cori frequently shared updates with her followers about her daughter’s progress and incredible resilience through months of medical care.
After what felt like a hopeful milestone — Codi being discharged to go home in early January 2026 — the family’s world was shattered when she passed away just 20 days after her return home.
Cori shared a sweet post to commemorate the happy day.
Family & Fans Mourn the Loss
Cori’s fiancé, Wayne Deuce, also shared his own heartfelt tributes, writing that he had been “the saddest since u left me Codi Dreaux,” but that he finds some solace in knowing she is “at peace.”
Together, their shared posts have painted a portrait of love, loss and the emotional roller coaster that comes with carrying a child through such complications and celebrating every hard‑won moment, only to face the most unthinkable outcome a parent can endure.
After the sad news was announced, the two time coach of “The Voice,” shared a simple post to social media of his family.
He captioned the image with just a heart emoji and prayer hands.
In the aftermath of Cori’s announcement, fans and friends have offered waves of support and condolences across social media, emphasizing empathy and solidarity with her and her family.
Many have commented on the courage it takes to share such vulnerable feelings publicly, acknowledging that while grief is intensely personal, expressing it openly can help others feel less alone in their own struggles.
