Beloved ‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Star Undergoes Surgery

Fan-favourite TLC star Amy Slaton is sharing yet another vulnerable chapter of her health journey. In an upcoming episode of “1000-lb Sisters,” viewers see Slaton preparing for eye surgery to address a condition she has lived with since birth.

The procedure had nothing to do with weight loss. Instead, doctors operated on both of her eyes to treat complications from ocular toxoplasmosis, a rare parasitic infection that left her legally blind and affected the alignment of her eyes.

Emotional Moments Before Surgery on ‘1000-lb Sisters’

Slaton first opened up about her diagnosis in a 2015 YouTube video, sharing how the condition has shaped much of her life.

This latest procedure is meant to improve her vision and correct her lazy eye, offering a meaningful step forward after years of living with limited sight.

An exclusive clip shared by TMZ, the episode will capture the emotional lead-up to surgery as her husband, Brian Lovvorn, waits nervously nearby.

Lovvorn admitted he was deeply worried while speaking with the show’s film crew. His greatest fear was whether Slaton would safely wake up from anesthesia.
