Whitney Thore is letting fans see the sweet moment she said yes to Jake Beaudoin.
The “My Big Fat Fabulous Life” star recently shared a carousel of photos documenting her surprise proposal from Beaudoin, just days after the couple made their relationship Instagram official.
One of the photos shows Thore lovingly looking at her now-fiancé while touching her new engagement ring. Behind the couple, a sign reads, “Will you marry me,” offering a glimpse at the special setup Beaudoin planned for the proposal.
The TLC Star Shared the Moment She Said Yes
Thore captioned the post, “💍 When the surprise was REALLY surprising! 😂 Thank you for all your love and support -we feel extremely loved! 💕”
Beaudoin then asked his new fiancée, “Were you surprised, babe?”
Thore jokingly admitted that she certainly wasn’t dressed for a proposal.
“I was too surprised because I was wearing pigtails and a bandana,” she responded.
She went on to reveal that the proposal itself couldn’t have been more perfect.
“The proposal was actually perfect. It was beautiful. We had my friends there, and even Goosey with flowers in her collar,” Thore said.
Fans immediately flooded the TLC star’s comments with congratulations, with many celebrating the unexpected romantic milestone.
One commenter who identified themselves as a jeweler complimented Thore’s ring while offering some advice about caring for it.
Thore revealed that the ring features an aquamarine stone and admitted she had already been doing something the commenter advised against.
“It is! I didn’t know not to sleep in it — I sleep in all my jewelry,” Thore replied.

“Jake has officially graduated from boyfriend to fiancé,” Thore told PEOPLE in an interview published Aug. 18. “We’re getting married, and we couldn’t be happier.”
Thore said Beaudoin’s proposal completely caught her off guard, making the moment even more meaningful.
“I was ‘completely surprised,’” she told the outlet, explaining that the unexpected proposal made the milestone “even more special.”
“It was truly perfect,” Thore said. “The ring is absolutely beautiful, and there’s a special story behind it that means so much to us. We’re thrilled to start this next chapter and build our future together as husband and wife.”
