Heather Locklear tends to keep her private life relatively under wraps. However, she recently posed for a photo during a very special occasion. Her daughter, model and actress Ava Sambora — who the “Melrose Place” star shares with ex-husband, musician Richie Sambora — is getting married and just celebrated her upcoming nuptials with a bridal shower.
In an Instagram post from Juliet Walsh, Heather can be seen posing alongside Ava. The mother and daughter look lovely in summery dresses as they smile at the camera.
Juliet added a caption, writing, “A beautiful day to celebrate a very special bride💖 Congratulations Ava, we love you!💖🌸🌷🌺🌸💖”
Ava left a comment in return, saying, “I love you so much. Thank you for the most beautiful shower!!”

On February 12, 2024, Heather took to Instagram herself to share a black-and-white photo that showed Ava with her fiancé in their engagement pics.
In the caption, Heather wrote, “Second best day of my life. First was the day she was born. Sweetest couple ever. Congratulations!”
Heather also shared a second post that showed the moment when Ava’s partner popped the question.
Along with shots of the couple embracing and looking joyful in the moment, one pic shows the groom-to-be on one knee as he asks for Ava’s hand in marriage with a flower-filled arch and candles behind them, along with water in the distance and the sun setting. That’s not to mention the final photo that gives a glimpse at the sweet pair sharing a kiss.
In October 2024, the couple held an engagement party, and Ava wrote on her now-private Instagram account (via People), “Had the most beautiful night celebrating our engagement! Thank you for being my biggest blessing Tyler William 🤍 #engagedaf”
Heather Celebrated Another of Ava’s Major Milestones
In May 2023, Ava earned her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education, according to People.
Her loving mother again hopped onto Instagram to celebrate the impressive achievement, sharing a photo of Ava in a cap and gown while onstage receiving her degree. In the caption, Heather wrote, “Such a proud mama. Congratulations my baby, with your masters in MFT. With your hard work and perseverance and kind heart. 🤦🏼♀️”
