Former ‘Baywatch’ Star Nicole Eggert Receives Support After Breast Cancer Surgery

Nicole Eggert, known for her role as Summer Quinn in “Baywatch,” revealed that she had breast cancer surgery.

“Had a mastectomy with reconstruction on Thursday. How was ur weekend?” she wrote in an August 28 Instagram post.

Eggert shared a selfie wearing a surgical bra while standing in front of a mirror. Fellow celebrities and fans shared their best wishes for the actor.

“Sending love fierce warrior,” singer Debbie Gibson replied. Fellow “Baywatch” alum Erika Eleniak wrote, “Damn, Nicole. You are fierce.”

A fan shared, “I have gone through the same journey and you have done it with such an amazing attitude and gratitude. You are an inspiration to all . Stay beautiful and real like you are.”

“Oh man, I’ve had one and it’s a lot. But you can and will get through it. Much love,” another wrote.

Eggert Bravely Opened Up About Her ‘Rough’ Breast Cancer Journey

Eggert revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in an interview with People in 2024. The mom of two recalled first feeling pain in her left breast in October 2023 and received the diagnosis two months after.

“I immediately went to my general practitioner and she told me I had to immediately go get it looked at. But the problem was I just couldn’t get an appointment. Everything was booked. So I had to wait until the end of November to get it done,” she told the publication.

She continued, “This journey’s been rough for me. This hasn’t been a breezy [sail] through life. I always read inspirational quotes and corny stuff, but it gets me through.”

“It needs to be taken out. So it’s just a matter of do I have to do treatment before the surgery or can they perform the surgery and then I do the treatment after,” Eggert said.

The “Charles in Charge” star shared that she was fighting for her kids, especially her daughter Keegan, who was 12 years old at the time.

“This is something that I have to beat. She needs me more than anything and anybody,” Eggert stated.

Eggert Is Now an Advocate for Breast Cancer Awareness

Since learning of her breast cancer diagnosis, Eggert is doing everything she can to educate others, as well as herself, on prevention and treatments.

“I do believe it’s preventable, but if you do find yourself with the diagnosis, I think it’s about using modern medicine along with lifestyle changes and all the other things that you can do to prevent disease,” she told Fox News.

Eggert added, “I think understanding how and why I got cancer has been a big deal for me to dig into that and understand … learning how to control it and how to prevent it … keep it in remission and how to help my body along … repair after all the damage that’s been done by the treatment.”
