Sally Struthers shared a happy moment with a friend weeks after the tragic death of her “All in the Family” co-star, Rob Reiner. In January 2026, the actress went on a lunch outing with Rose Abdoo, her former co-star on the CW series “Gilmore Girls.”
In photos shared to Instagram on Jan. 13, Struthers, 78, was all smiles as she posed at Superba restaurant with Abdoo and pal Jaime Gray. The photos mark one of Struthers’ first public outings with friends since Reiner, who played her husband, Mike “Meathead” Stivic, on “All in the Family,” died on Dec. 14.

On Instagram, Abdoo, 63, captioned photos from her lunch date with Struthers with a sweet tribute to the legendary sitcom star.
“Sending love to all in this new year!” she wrote. “Lunch w/ marvelous Sally Struthers is the best remedy for these times! Special thanks to @lifesuperba & the terrific @jaime.gray_ Look for the soon to be posted reel about our afternoon!”
Abdoo played Stars Hollow’s local mechanic, Gypsy, on “Gilmore Girls” from 2002 to 2007. Struthers played Babette Dell, the quirky neighbor of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore (Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel) on all seven seasons of the beloved CW series, as well as the 2016 “Year in the Life” revival.
Fans reacted to say how happy they were to see Abdoo and Struthers reunited.

In 2025, Abdoo told Nerd Reactor she formed lifelong friendships while working on “Gilmore Girls.” “The relationships I formed on that show, it’s like those are people that you would kill to work with again,” she said. “Lauren and Kelly [Bishop]… Sally Struthers and I are constantly trying to think of how we can just be in each other’s presence and find a way to get paid for it.”

“There are no words. This is beyond devastating, and my heart is with their family,” Struthers told Deadline in mid-December.
The actress has been rarely seen in public since the murders of Reiner and his wife.
On Dec. 29, Struthers was seen in public for the first time since the shocking death of her “All in the Family” co-star. Struthers was photographed by TMZ wearing an all-black outfit during a solo outing in Los Angeles.
