We’re counting down the days until the “American Idol” season 24 premiere on January 26! Watch the “Idol” blooper video of judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie (host Ryan Seacrest and alum Clay Aiken, too!) messing up while filming content.
‘American Idol’ Blooper Video Captures Judges Having Fun
On January 14, the “American Idol” Instagram account posted a behind-the-scenes look at Underwood, Bryan, and Richie filming content.
“Just some #AmericanIdol bloopers to make your day a little better ๐คญ See you Mon Jan 26!!” the caption noted.
The judges get silly as they flub lines and miss cues. After Richie jokes, “And I’ll go all night long,” they attempt a silly high-five moment. “It was weird,” Underwood notes afterward.
“Sorry, I was looking down the barrel of the lens,” Bryan says at one point.
They also put their acting skills to the test, reacting to Aiken startling them. “That felt real. That was good. That’s the reaction I get a lot,” Aiken jokes.
Seacrest also messes up a line, as he notes “explore these historic walls,” when he’s supposed to say “halls.” He jokes, “The walls are great.”
Bryan is seen messing up repeatedly and dropping expletives, causing everyone to break out laughing.
Near the end of the clip, Aiken jokes, “Finally an answer to the question of ‘Where the hell has Clay Aiken been for the last 15 years?'”
Fans lit up the comments section to share their excitement over the upcoming season. “Super funny! I’m so ready for Season 24 of ‘American Idol’!” one fan wrote.
Another fan noted, “Can’t wait!”
Some fans shared that they’d love to see Aiken back on the show. “I hope y’all have Clay on this season!” one wrote.
“Clay teasers are gonna make me watch ‘Idol’ again,” another fan noted.
‘Idol’ Judges Give Fans Look at What’s in Their Backpacks
As part of the “Idol University” theme for the new season promos, the judges each gave a tour of what’s inside their backpacks.
Underwood’s backpack included her phone, water, lip gloss, and was heavy on snacks like celery sticks, tomatoes, carrots, and snack bars. She also had mints to keep her breath fresh alongside her fellow judges and her crochet craft must-haves, as she noted she does that while in the hair and makeup chair.
The singer also had a journal to take notes about contestants or jot down inspiration when it strikes.
Bryan’s backpack reflected his interests โ including items for golf and fishing, guitar accessories, popcorn, and a can of beer.
Richie had sunglasses for “the coolness,” musical items, water, and his memoir, “Truly.”
