Jennifer Hudson Reveals If Common Will be a Special Guest on Her Tour
Hudson kicks off her 16-date tour with Josh Groban this summer on June 2.
In a March 2026 interview with People, Hudson noted, “Music is the base for me. I can’t wait to get back to the musical base in concert form.”
She shared, “That is what I’m most looking forward to doing right now, is getting out there on tour and performing. [There’s] nothing like it.”
When asked if Common could make an appearance as a surprise guest, Hudson shared, “You know what? We’ll see. We’ll see. I wouldn’t count that out.”
The singer added, “How the music hits us is how we respond. So, if it’s on his spirit, my spirit, [our] spirit, you may get to see that.”
Hudson didn’t confirm or deny a Common appearance, however. “I don’t know, but it’s still early on as far as the program for the tour [and] what the music will be,” the singer explained.

During a game on Hudson’s talk show in December 2025, the host asked Groban if he had any secrets to spill.
“It’s funny you should ask that, Jennifer,” Groban replied, “Because not only do I have a secret that I’ve been holding onto for this entire segment, but we have a secret.”
“This summer, this extraordinary, extraordinary — one of the greatest vocalists that’s ever lived, one of the most amazing people on the planet … I can barely even contain myself telling you this news … has graciously agreed to come out on the road with me this summer,” Groban shared. “We’re going to be touring together!”
Hudson added, “Oh my god! That is my secret! You told it!”
She shared, “to be able to tour with you is a dream.”
