The Top 5 became the Top 3 on “American Idol” season 24 tonight. We had a night full of performances, as we are just one week away from finding out the winner of “American Idol” 2026. We saw the five artists perform two songs: one for the “Dancing With the Stars” crossover and one duet with a contestant from season 5 of the show. It was familiar faces all the way around, but when all was said and done, Ryan Seacrest came out and delivered the shocking results on “American Idol” 2026. Two Singers Eliminated
I think, regardless of how these results went tonight on “American Idol” season 24, someone was going to be shocked. We all have our favorites, so it seems like one of them will be eliminated, especially since two of the five singers were eliminated.
Clearly, from my predictions earlier in the day, I was thinking it was going to go a different way. I felt like Braden Rumfelt had been proving himself more and more over the past couple of weeks, and it could have been enough to push him past Hannah Harper.
That was not the case, though, as Hannah was the first singer announced to make the Top 3. From there, Keyla Richardson and Jordan McCullough joined Hannah as the finalists for this season.
That meant, besides Braden, Chris Tungseth was also eliminated last night. The final three singers to get their results were Chris, Braden, and Jordan McCullough. At that point, if Jordan had been eliminated, I think many people would have thrown something at their televisions.
However, that was not the case. The last person named safe for the week was Jordan McCullough, which meant that Braden and Chris were eliminated from the competition.
Fans React to Season 24 Finalists
Many fans hopped on social media after Ryan delivered the Top 3 results. Not to diminish Chris and all he did this season, the main focus has been on Braden. It seems like many of the fans out there were wanting him, Keyla, and Jordan in the finals.
This fan wrote, “Braden should have been top 3 ❕❕,” while another added, “That was disappointing! Braden should have made the top 3!”
This person wrote, “Braden and Chris Robbed – done watching now,” and another added, “No way! Braden should have been in the Top 3 😢,” and a third fan wrote, “Braden should have been in the top 3. Hoping he gets a record deal. I will definitely buy his music.”
This fan had big thoughts for Braden and his future, writing, “Chris Daughtry didn’t win either. Braden will be one the BIGGEST stars that started their careers on Idol. I’m so proud of him. Can’t wait to support him in all that he does 🙌🙌🙌❤️❤️❤️ ROBBED!”
Many agreed with the season 24 finalists, though, with this person writing, “jordan keyla and hannah✨️✨️wouldnt have had it any other way🔥.”
This fan wrote, “Yes! My big 3! Hannah, Jordan, and Keyla,” while another fan wrote, “Obvious top 3,” and a third fan wrote, “Finally got it RIGHT! 👏🏻🙌🏻👏🏻”
