‘Below Deck Down Under’ Season 4 Begins With Chef Ben Robinson’s Personal Reset
In a preview of the season premiere, Robinson confirms that he recently ended his engagement.
“This might come as a shock to everyone, but I am actually single,” Robinson says in a confessional. “Fairly recently, I broke up with my fiancée — having spent $50,000 on a wedding I didn’t attend.”
He reflects on how quickly life changed.
“It’s odd when your future’s been solidified, for it all to vanish into thin air,” Robinson adds. “[But] yachting was a big part of my formative life. It’s actually nice to come back to it.”
Robinson officially announced the breakup in September 2024 on Instagram, writing, “We have decided to go our separate ways, and I think that this is the best decision for both of us. I would rather not discuss the reasons behind these decisions, but I feel it’s important for me to express my circumstance.”
He also shared plans to refocus on his career, adding, “I’m excited to continue my culinary inspirations with my non-gaslit cooktop, and trusty blowtorch. After all, nobody deserves a troublesome flame.”
Robinson previously revealed his engagement to Cabral in May 2023, sharing photos from the proposal, which he has since removed.
“After a wonderful 4 year relationship with my love Kiara I decided to take the next step and propose… I feel like the luckiest man alive!”
New Crew Dynamics and Potential Romance Teased in Season 4 Trailer
As the new crew settles aboard M/Y Katina, Robinson reconnects with fellow yachties João Franco and Daisy Kelliher, while meeting incoming stews Jenna Woudberg and Joe Caron.
“They do say that to get over someone, you gotta find someone else,” Robinson jokes in the preview. “I think Katina can be my new girl.”
The season trailer also hints at complicated dynamics between Robinson, Kelliher, and Franco.
According to Bravo’s official announcement, “As tension between Daisy and Chef Ben heats up, João’s growing feelings for Daisy and loyalty to Chef Ben collide, threatening to sink João and Chef Ben’s seven-year-long friendship.”
“With veteran heads of departments clashing and chaos mounting, Capt. Jason realizes that more experience also means bigger egos, proving that even the pros can go overboard.”
“Below Deck Down Under” season 4 premieres Monday, February 2, on Bravo, with episodes available to stream the next day on Peacock.
