Jessica Simpson is staying right where she is. The singer has decided to continue living in the Los Angeles mansion — formerly owned by Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne — that she once shared with her now-former husband, Eric Johnson.
Realtor.com noted in November 2025 that “[t]he property has served as Simpson and Johnson’s marital home for more than 10 years—and it is where they have raised all three of their children together.”
Now, “Simpson has decided to keep her $17 million mansion after estranged husband Eric Johnson moved out of the home they shared during their marriage,” according to TMZ.
TMZ also notes that “[s]ources familiar with the situation” say that “Eric got his own home not too far from Jessica’s … L.A.-area mansion.”
Beyond that, the insiders told TMZ “that Jessica isn’t alone in the home, and her 3 children are there when not spending time with their dad.”
Jessica Simpson Was Trying to Sell Her Los Angeles Mansion
Although Simpson has now decided to stay in her L.A. abode, she actually tried to sell it previously. “We’re told the ‘Take My Breath Away’ singer recently took her home off the market after attempting to sell it for more than a year,” per TMZ.
Indeed, after buying the property for $11.5 million in 2013, Simpson then put the home on the market in 2023 for $22 million. She ended up taking down the listing before re-listing it for $17.9 million in January, which was followed by her taking the house off the market once again.
Jessica’s Home Boasts ‘Classic California Views’ & ‘Luxurious Amenities’
While Simpson had intended to sell her Los Angeles mansion, it’s understandable why she decided to stay. “The spacious home spans 13,274 square feet of interiors on 2.25 acres, with classic California views and luxurious amenities,” Realtor.com noted in December 2025. “The über-private property is located inside the gated neighborhood of Hollywood Hills, a high-end enclave called home by a gaggle of other celebs, including the Kardashian-Jenner clan and Justin Bieber.”
“The listing photos revealed that Simpson and Johnson have carried out extensive renovations in order to suit the home to their lifestyle, including adding a funky and colorful recording studio where the singer was able to work on her music,” Realtor.com also explained in November 2025. “Fun fabrics, textures, and colors can be found throughout the property, including a wood-paneled library, which was given a very modern feel with the addition of some zebra-print couches, and the entryway, which was covered in elegant floral wallpaper.”
Outside, “[a]n enormous pool in the backyard offers stunning views of the surrounding area from the home’s hilltop perch, while multiple outdoor dining areas provide the perfect place to soak up the California sun.”

That’s a smart move, downsizing can be a really good decision after a relationship. It’s interesting to see how people adjust their spaces.
