Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s ‘Dream’ Mansion Looks Enormous Despite Being Unfinished

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively may have a fabulous “urban loft” apartment in New York City, but that hasn’t stopped them from investing in another property in the same state where they can build whatever their (rather wealthy) hearts desire.

Embarking on a major project to bring their “dream home” to life, the dwelling that they had pictured themselves living in when not in Hollywood “is sitting unfinished,” according to TMZ.

Despite that, the mansion already looks massive!

Ryan and Blake Have Been Working on the Property Since 2018

Along with appearing in movies, keeping up with personal responsibilities and dealing with a highly publicized lawsuit, Reynolds and Lively have spent years working on what they hope will be their future home. TMZ noted that the “property has been a passion project for Blake and Ryan ever since they quietly bought the land through an LLC back in 2018.”

Indeed, Realtor.com reports that the “‘It Ends With Us’ actress and the ‘Deadpool’ star began snapping up several properties in the town of Lewisboro, NY, back in 2018, with property records showing that they bought six adjacent parcels of land, totaling 110 acres, via the same LLC, the largest of which was purchased for $12 million.”

Realtor.com mentions the fact that in June 2022, “Lively shed some light on their plans for the sprawling property — which is located just a few miles away from a $5.7 million farmhouse they own in Pound Ridge, NY — telling a virtual meeting of the Lewisboro Planning Board that she and her husband wanted to construct ‘an incredibly sustainable’ retreat on the land.”

“We have 110 acres and we don’t have a house,” she said, per the Katonah-Lewisboro Times (via Realtor.com). “So, this is just us saying we’re so excited to live here.”

During the meeting, Lively also brought up the four children she shares with Reynolds — James (11), Inez (9), Betty (6) and Olin (3) — saying, “Our kids are growing up way too fast, which is [not] your problem, but definitely ours. We’ve had this property for four years now and I’m just desperate to get shovels in the ground, and be living on this land and enjoying it.”

As for the “luxury compound” that “has reportedly been under construction for years,” it “was supposed to include a 14,500-square-foot main home, pool house, gym, geothermal systems and other high-end features,” TMZ explains. The size of the primary residence was meant to be bigger, but was reduced to 14,500 square feet in order to get permission to build.

“But now, the project is reportedly stalled,” TMZ mentions, “with construction believed to have slowed late last year before stopping entirely sometime around late 2025 or early 2026.”

The Stars Have Bought Multiple Homes in New York State

As we mentioned, Reynolds and Lively own two other homes in the state of New York, and those aren’t the only properties they’ve snapped up — and, in one case, sold — in the area.

“In early 2012, about six months after Lively and Reynolds began dating after meeting on the set of Green Lantern, the couple paid $2.3 million for a home in Bedford, New York, about an hour north of the city,” according to Architectural Digest (AD). “The residence reportedly measured 4,753 square feet, with three bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, with a two-bedroom guest suite situated elsewhere on the two-acre property.”

AD notes that the “couple sold the pad for a reported $2.4 million in May 2013 after buying a larger home in the area.”

Indeed, they then picked up “a $5.7 million mansion in Pound Ridge, just a few miles away from their original upstate home,” per AD. “The entire estate reportedly spans 11.65 acres and includes an outdoor barn, while the main Colonial-style house measures 8,892 square feet, boasting seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. There is also a separate guest house.”

Just a few years after that, they purchased their Tribeca loft, which was followed by their plans for their newest abode in Lewisboro, which will surely be jaw-droppingly impressive if and when it’s finished.
