Selena Gomez has officially said goodbye to a Los Angeles home that longtime fans may recognize.
The singer and actress has sold her sprawling Encino estate for $5.4 million, several months after putting the property on the market. EntertainmentNow previously took a look inside Selena Gomez’s home when it was listed for $6.495 million in May.
But beyond its six bedrooms and celebrity-worthy amenities, the Selena Gomez home has another claim to fame. Its kitchen provided the familiar setting for Gomez’s hit cooking series, “Selena + Chef.”
Selena Gomez’s Home Has a Familiar TV Connection
According to TMZ, Gomez’s Encino property sold Tuesday, Sept. 8, for $5.4 million. That means the final sale price came in more than $1 million below the $6.495 million asking price attached to the property when it hit the market in May.
Fans of “Selena + Chef” may be particularly familiar with the mansion’s spacious kitchen. The HBO Max series began in 2020 and followed Gomez as she learned new recipes remotely from professional chefs while cooking from home.
The show’s first seasons were filmed during the COVID era, turning Gomez’s kitchen into a recognizable part of the series as chefs including José Andrés, Roy Choi and Ludo Lefebvre helped her sharpen her skills.
“Selena + Chef” ultimately ran for four seasons, with its fourth season moving the action away from Encino to a Malibu beach house. Gomez later returned to the kitchen format with Food Network’s holiday special “Selena + Chef: Home for the Holidays.”
Selena Gomez’s $5.4 Million Home Comes With a Hollywood History
The property’s connection to entertainment stretches back much further than Gomez’s cooking show.
Gomez purchased the Encino estate in March 2020 for approximately $4.9 million. Before she called it home, the property had ties to rock legend Tom Petty, who previously lived there with his family.
The home Gomez eventually purchased was extensively renovated, but its history remained one of the more unusual features of the property. According to TMZ’s original May report, the estate spans roughly 11,500 square feet and includes six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
Its amenities go well beyond the recognizable kitchen. The home includes two primary suites, a wine cellar, gym, massage room, glam room, office and vocal booth. Outside, the grounds feature a pool and spa, cabana with a bar, fire pit and outdoor dining space.
Gomez also shared another memorable career moment from inside the property. In August 2024, she posted a video of herself collapsing onto a bed in the home after learning that she had landed a starring role in “Emilia Pérez.”
Selena Gomez Has Already Started a New Chapter
The sale comes during a new chapter in Gomez’s personal life. The “Only Murders in the Building” star married producer Benny Blanco in September 2025, and the couple has since been settling into married life.
When Gomez first listed her Encino property, TMZ reported in May that she and Blanco had purchased a Beverly Hills estate together for $35 million. The couple’s move meant Gomez was ready to part with the Encino home she had owned for approximately six years.
She initially sought $6.495 million for the property before ultimately selling it for $5.4 million.
Gomez and Blanco have also been enjoying their first year as husband and wife. The couple recently traveled to Italy, where EntertainmentNow recently covered Gomez and Blanco coordinating their looks during a Venice getaway.
The Encino sale may close one chapter for Gomez, but the home has already secured an unusual place in her career history. Between its famous former owner, its role in “Selena + Chef” and Gomez’s own milestone moments there, the new owners are getting considerably more than a luxurious Los Angeles property.
