Country music star Jo Dee Messina has inspired fans with her latest video, showing her working hard to achieve her health and fitness goals

Messina posted a video on Instagram on Thursday, January  22, that showed her transformation over two years. The clip shows her working out in her home gym, doing cardio and weights. “A two-year process of showing up every day and putting in the work,” she wrote on the clip. 

In the caption, she shared her thoughts, writing, “This glow up though!! There are days when you just don’t want to show up, but you do it anyway. Can you relate ??? Way to go! Team JDM.” Fans have praised Messina for her commitment to becoming a stronger, healthier version of herself. She has inspired her followers, leading to an outpouring of loving, supportive comments.

“Incredible JoDEE!!! Inspiration!!!” a comment reads. “Way to go, taking charge of your health! It’s not easy in middle age, but we’ll be more mobile and strong as we age,” a fan shared. “I’m 63 and have kept 50 pounds off for ten years.” Other reactions include, “Get it sis!! Been doing the same for 2yrs! Every week days down 55lbs,” “Yes I can!!! Been consistent for almost 6 months going strong,” and “Much needed inspiration! Go girl go!!!”

In addition to taking control of her health, Messina has also teased that new music is on the way. In an Instagram post on January 22, she showed a video of herself back in the recording studio.


Jo Dee Messina’s Health Journey 

Messina has been through a tough battle with her health, and in 2017, she announced that she had cancer. “We don’t know anything specific regarding the treatment plan at this point, but Jo Dee is working closely with a team to explore all options,” she shared in a statement on her website, Mashable reports. “She has taken the semester off from classes at The King’s University, and her last tour date for the year will be October 7 (all other 2017 dates are being postponed), as she will begin cancer treatment this Fall.”

She spoke about the challenges in her life and how busy she had been. “I have been so buried with trying to stay alive,” she said, The Boot reports. “So you feel forgotten, because every day you’re trying to get through tests, or you’re trying to get through screenings — or you’re trying to raise 7- and 10-year old boys.”
