Kimberly Williams-Paisley Shares Heartwarming Memories of Former Co-Star Dolly Parton

In the wake of Dolly Parton’s passing on Tuesday, August 25, at the age of 80, her countless fans have taken to social media to share tributes to the beloved country music star. That includes celebrities like Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who was fortunate enough to meet Parton on more than one occasion and even work with the icon. That’s why she was able to share memories of the singer that proved that she was just as talented and as kind as the public believed.

‘We Will Always Love Her’

In a post that Williams-Paisley shared on Instagram, the Hallmark actress included two photos of herself with Parton, and added a caption explaining her connection to the beloved musician, writing, “I first met Dolly Parton when she and Brad [Paisley, who is Williams-Paisley’s husband] recorded ‘When I Get Where I’m Going.’ She was immediately approachable, funny, kind, and generous. And her voice! Well, it pierced my soul in the best way, and added so much to an already beautiful song.”

Williams-Paisley continued by noting that she was then able to work with Parton on Netflix’s “Heartstrings” series. Noting that they performed together during a scene in “Jolene,” the actress recalled that they were filming in a bandstand outside while there was “crazy winds and sideways rain.” Mentioning that Williams-Paisley and the rest of the cast and crew were attempting to work amid the stormy conditions, she admitted that everything from her hair and wardrobe to her script pages were “flying every which way.”

However, she also noted, “When Dolly arrived, it was like the storm stopped, but only around her. She glided across the stage, looking gorgeous and prepared as always, with not ONE HAIR out of place. It must have been the Dolly effect.”

Beyond sharing memories that Williams-Paisley has of Parton, she also brought up the ways that the legendary singer made the world a better place through more than just her music, saying, “Dolly did so much good in her beautiful life on earth, from helping kids learn to love to read, to inspiring so many people to love each other well. In addition to her astounding talent, she was an incredible business woman and philanthropist. Dolly will always live on in her music and in our hearts. And we will always love her.🕊️🕊️🕊️❤️👑👑👑”

On top of that, the tune earned a Country Music Association Award for Vocal Event of the Year and a nomination for Single and Video of the Year.

Written by George Teren and Rivers Rutherford, Parton shared a message to the duo, saying, “I want to thank you and congratulate you for one of the greatest songs that I have ever heard and certainly one of the best songs that I’ve had the good fortune to sing on in my whole career.”

She went on to say, “I truly am as proud to have been a part of that [song] as anything I’ve ever done in my whole life.”
