Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich may have finalized their divorce in 2022, but there’s still no drama between them. The “Dancing with the Stars” co-host recently showed just how supportive she remains of her ex and his growing family, proving that some Hollywood breakups really can stay friendly.
Hough and Laich began dating in 2013 and married in July 2017. After nearly three years of marriage, the couple announced their split in May 2020 and finalized their divorce two years later. Despite the end of their relationship, both have remained publicly respectful and close.
Julianne Hough Spends Time With Brooks Laich and His Pregnant Fiancée
EntertainmentNowHough, 36, made headlines in July when she shared a photo with Laich and his fiancée, Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir. The trio posed together on a lake, smiling and enjoying a casual summer day.
“Special day on the lake with these three cuties,” Hough wrote on Instagram Stories, even pointing toward Davíðsdóttir’s baby bump.
Laich, 42, and Davíðsdóttir, 32, announced in May that they were expecting their first child. “Baby Laich coming this fall,” the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post, adding: “Mom & Dad can’t wait to meet you, our little one!!!!!!”
Hough didn’t hesitate to send her congratulations. “Congratulations you two on expanding your family — this baby is already so loved,” she wrote in the comments.
Although the moment surprised some fans, this wasn’t the first time Hough and Laich have appeared together post-split.
The ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Co-Host Reflects on Life After Marriage
During an appearance on “The Jamie Kern Lima Show” podcast in September 2024, Hough opened up about continuing to cross paths with Laich and Davíðsdóttir at events.
“It was so beautiful,” Hough said. “I now feel like I’m just beginning with so much wisdom, with so much compassion and understanding of what’s possible… you have the spectrum to feel it.”
Hough thinks of her life after marriage as a chance to rebuild. “I don’t want a perfect life,” she added. “I want a full, beautiful, connected life.”
The couple originally met in 2013 after Hough attended a six-day self-development seminar. They became engaged in 2015 and married in Idaho in 2017. In their divorce announcement to People, the couple said: “We share an abundance of love and respect for one another… we will continue to lead with our hearts.”
A source told the outlet at the time of their split, “There is honestly no ill will. He loves her. She loves him.” The source added that Hough has simply grown into a different version of herself since the marriage.
Fans can catch Julianne Hough on “Dancing with the Holidays,” December 2, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+.
