Whitney Leavitt’s big Broadway moment just got the perfect “Dancing With the Stars”–style twist. After announcing she’ll be stepping into the iconic role of Roxie Hart in “Chicago,” the Season 34 alum was met with a hilarious message from her former partner, Mark Ballas. While fans flooded her with congratulations, Ballas couldn’t resist slipping in a playful roast, proving their chemistry is still very much alive after their time in the ballroom.
Whitney Shares Big News
In news that may not have come as a shock to many, it was announced on December 1 that “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” breakout star was headed to Broadway.
Whitney will be performing the role of Roxie Hart for the “Chicago” musical in New York City. The performances will take place at the Ambassador Theater, and her six-week run will take place from February 2, 2026, through March 15, 2026.
This isn’t a first for “DWTS” alum, as Ariana Madix performed in the same role after finishing in third place during season 32 of “Dancing With the Stars” with her pro partner, Pasha Pashkov.
A Celebration for Whitney
After the big news came out, Whitney went back to her Instagram page to thank everyone. In the post, Leavitt wrote, “My heart is so full right now 🥹 seeing you all book tickets and make the journey to see @chicagomusical …it means the world to me! I’m gunna give it my all! Can’t wait to see and hug you in the Big Apple 😝🗽 xx Roxie Hart.”
While fans were showing her love, Ballas had to playfully roast his season 34 partner. Ballas wrote, “Are you wearing your stinky tango shoes?”
It sounds like she may have had some stinky shoes during her run on “Dancing With the Stars” season 34.
