Is Miley Cyrus On Board for a ‘Hannah Montana’ Reboot?
Miley, now 33, spilled her true feelings about a highly-anticipated “Hannah Montana” reboot on the red carpet of the 20th anniversary special.
“You started all this. You started the drama,” Cyrus jokingly told a Variety reporter on Monday, March 23. “I was just kinda like, you know, mention my bangs and my blonde the last time I saw you, and then this happened. Here we are.”
When asked about where she stands on a potential reboot, however, Cyrus simply said, “Girl, I’m already tired. This has already been a lot.”
While it’s not a complete no, it’s not looking good for millennial Disney fans.
‘Hannah Montana’ Anniversary Special
The “7 Things” artist confirmed at the 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards in January that she would be revisiting her iconic character for the milestone anniversary.
“We gotta celebrate,” she told Entertainment Tonight in January, adding that the fans “deserve” it. “There’s like a big birthday party I’m imagining. So I am on it, yes. I want to honor Hannah as much as anyone.”
She pointed out that she had been preparing to step back into character as she was “lightening the hair and getting the bangs.”
The 20th anniversary special—which will be hosted by “Call Her Daddy” star Alex Cooper—was officially confirmed in February.
“‘Hannah Montana’ will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection,” Cyrus said in a statement at the time. “The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”
“Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” will feature an in-depth interview between Miley and Alex Cooper “about the most epic moments from the series,” according to USA Today. While cameos are expected from stars like Billy Ray Cyrus, Selena Gomez and more, Hannah’s bestie Lily Truscott (played by Emily Osment) will not make an appearance.
“Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special” premieres on Disney+ on Tuesday, March 24.
