On a recent trip to Disney, the award-winning actor witnessed an incredibly special moment in one family’s life. A mother captured her little girl meeting Goofy for the very first time. But what she didn’t quite expect was for Matt Damon to show up in the background and beam at the adorable moment.
Matt Damon Witnesses a Heartwarming Moment at Disney
On a trip to Disney, one family got the surprise of a lifetime.
“When your daughter is more starstruck by Goofy than Matt Damon 😆” Instagram user Loryn Powell captioned a new video on the platform. Her daughter was so excited to meet the Disney character and wasn’t aware of the A-lister standing just a few feet away.
“POV you’re watching your husband and daughter meet Goofy for the first time but don’t realize Matt Damon is also watching your husband and daughter meet Goofy for the first time,” Powell wrote over the video.
In the clip, an actor dressed as the iconic Disney character hugs the little girl and pats her head. In the background, “The Odyssey” actor beams from ear to ear as he enjoys the sweet interaction.
Viewers went wild and couldn’t believe how sweet the moment was.
“Aww and you can tell he was reminiscing on his babies meeting goofy for the first time,” a fan wrote in the comments.
“Did you see his face?! He thought it was just as cute as we all do!” another added.
“Can tell he is a girl dad remembering those days ❤️” a viewer chimed in.
The ‘Good Will Hunting’ Star Has Four Daughters of His Own
Matt Damon is a father of four daughters. He proudly became the stepfather to his wife, Luciana’s, daughter Alexia, 27, after they married in 2005. They went on to welcome three more daughters together: Isabella, 20, Gia, 18, and Stella, 15.
Though Damon’s daughters are all adults and teenagers now, it’s clear to see why he had such a sweet reaction to another child meeting Goofy. The 55-year-old still feels like he has plenty more to give in his acting career. However, he occasionally struggles to find a balance between his work and being a family man.
“I think about it a lot, especially as my kids are getting older: really trying to be here now,” Damon told GQ. “And it’s hard for me to do that. And I think maybe that has to do with my own nature.”
“It also has to do with this career where you’re always trying to figure out what’s ahead because it’s such an uncertain business and a pretty ruthless one. Those kinds of things have conspired to, I think, maybe take me out of where I am, more than I’d like,” he added.
“The Odyssey” is expected to be one of the biggest films of the year. Matt Damon worked in family time and brought his wife and daughters along while promoting the movie.
