Good vs Evil on ‘America’s Culinary Cup’
We got to see the nine chefs in action last week, as the chefs worked in teams of three to create a three-course meal that was made entirely of vegetables. As they continued their work on the 10 culinary commandments, this week’s focus was on vegetables. The losing team competed in the Elimination Challenge, which saw Emily Yuen eliminated.
Now, the eight remaining chefs will be taking on desserts. They will have to create two desserts tonight: a devilish one and a heavenly one. A battle of good versus evil. The fight to be named the winner of “America’s Culinary Cup” season 1 continues tonight, but who got eliminated on “America’s Culinary Cup” tonight? Find out with our Live Recap below!

Tonight’s Challenge
The chefs arrive, and we have one side of the room about love, and the other side is creepy and scary. There is a gold dome with “Forbidden” written on it. The judges arrive, with Padma looking like the devil and Michael and Wylie dressed in all white. Padma welcomes them to her garden of good and evil. The commandment tonight will be desserts. They will be tasked with two desserts inspired by their whimsical garden of good and evil. One dessert will be good, and one dessert will be evil.
She then asks the chefs to vote on who is most likely to win “America’s Culinary Cup” and who is least likely to win the show. The votes have been cast, and the chef voted most likely to win is Beverly, who gets emotional learning this. The chef voted least likely to win is Chris, who isn’t happy to see it.
Under the Forbidden Dome are ingredients least likely to be put into a dessert dish. The chefs must use one of these ingredients in their dish. Since he was voted least likely, Chris gets to assign the ingredients to the chefs, which includes pickles, mustard seed, blue cheese, sriracha, and more. Chris hands them out and keeps anchovies for himself. The chefs will have six hours to create their desserts.
Cooking Begins
Keith is not a dessert guy, so everything he is doing right now, he has not done before. Cara is making puff pastries, which is a big risk. Will she have enough time to do it?
Chris had a plan with the anchovies, which is why he took them. He is putting them in caramel, so can he make it work? He definitely wants to prove he isn’t the least likely to go home. Buddha’s wife is a pastry chef, so he said he learned everything from her.
Katie got dandelion greens for her evil dessert, so she is struggling. It just keeps the bitter taste. Keith has horseradish, but he isn’t tasting it in his dessert. The judges return to the kitchen with the guest judge, Nina Métayer, who has been voted the best pastry chef in the world two years in a row. Cara is serving a French dessert, so she is beyond nervous!
Tasting Begins
The judges are in place, so time to taste these desserts:
- Cara – Nina said she made the puff pastry very well. Wylie said the puff pastry from scratch it amazing. They’ll be talking about that the whole competition. They wanted her good dessert to be sweeter. Padma said the filling is dense.
- Keith – Nina wanted more cream for the evil dessert. Padma said the lava is a punch in the face. Michael said the good dessert needed to be more together. Wylie wanted it to be more airy.
Slip & Fall
Matt is finishing up his dish and struggling, as part of it keeps breaking because it’s so fragile. He is rushing back to his station and slips and falls!
No injuries there (or plates broken), so back to the tasting.
Tasting Continues
The tasting continues:
- Matt – Padma loved the idea of the burning black candle, but wished the sriracha was in the dark chocolate. Nina wanted something lighter. Michael loved the good dessert. Padma said they are both visually stunning.
- Chris – Wylie said his good dessert was really good. Nina said she loved the cake and ice cream. Wylie said they all struggled with why he picked anchovies, but this dessert sold him. Padma said his caramel was delicious. Michael said he enjoyed it, but still thinks he’s crazy for picking anchovies.
- Buddha – Michael said he liked it a lot. Nina liked the olive, but wanted more freshness. Padma said he didn’t need all of this, but the black olive was an amazing bite. Nina said his good dessert is so beautiful. Padma said he told his story well. This is probably his best dish she’s seen from him all season.
- Katie – Michael said the dandelion was his favorite part of the dish. Nina said one part was undercooked.
- Beverly – Padma said the black sesame dessert seemed evil. She used her evil ingredient to great effect. Wylie said it’s fun and whimsical, and it’s great stuff. For her good dessert, he said the best cake they’ve had for the day. Padma said great job on this challenge.
Time is running out for Diana, and it looks like she isn’t going to finish plating her evil dessert on “America’s Culinary Cup” 2026. She didn’t finish plating the evil dessert, so she only has the good dessert to give the judges.
- Diana – They love how she brings her culture into every dish. Wylie said this is like the best Twinkie he’s ever had. Padma said she loves horchata and liked having that cream on the plate.
Results on ‘America’s Culinary Cup’
For tonight, the chef with the lowest score will be going home. No head-to-head challenge tonight. Here are the scores from the judges tonight:
- Beverly – 155 points
- Cara – 147 points
- Buddha – 134 points
- Matt – 127 points
- Chris – 117 points
- Katie – 115 points
- Keith – 114 points
- Diana – 55 points
Since she only served one dessert, there really wasn’t any way for her to make up the difference. Because of that, Diana has been eliminated tonight on “America’s Culinary Cup” season 1.
