Restaurateur, chef, author, and television presenter Guy Fieri is known for his passion for food and, of course, his wife of 30 years, Lori Brisson. However, he also has another love in his life — his gorgeous pooch, Smokey.
It should come as no surprise, therefore, that Fieri, 57, took to his Instagram account on the adorable pup’s eighth birthday to pay a heartfelt tribute to his beloved little four-legged companion.
Guy Fieri Hailed His ‘Friend’ and ‘Protector’
In a post to his 2.3 million followers on Tuesday, November 4, Fieri shared nine photographs of Smokey, a black and brown Chihuahua, with a caption accompanying them that read, “Happy birthday to SMOKEY!! 8 yrs old today. Such a great friend, and protector against foreign noises with a bark way bigger than his bite!!”
The images included one of Smokey sat on a couch in a blingy gold collar, one of him sat on some grass, one of him devouring some delicious meat, one of him looking cute under a warm blanket, one of him getting cosy on Fieri’s bed, one of him stretching on a lounger in the sun, two of him basking in the sun, and another of him curled up in his own cosy bed.
In the comments, Fieri’s fans seemed almost as enamored with Smokey as Fieri himself, as love poured in for the lucky little canine.
One fan wrote, “Happy birthday Smokey! Love seeing your cameos on tv! 🔥”
Another commented, “HBD to the most chill lil guy! 🥳”
Someone else said, “Awww Happy Birthday!!! 🎂 He looks like my little Pea, but she has white where he’s brown. Best dog ever!!! 🥰💕”
Finally, another user chimed in saying, “He’s a beautiful Chihuahua!!! Happy Birthday, buddy!”
Smokey Isn’t Fieri’s Only Four-Legged Friend
Of course, Smokey isn’t Guy Fieri’s only faithful pup. He’s also a proud dog dad to Cash, a French Bulldog.
A few weeks ago, when Cash turned five, he got a birthday post of his own on Fieri’s Instagram page. That one comprised eight photographs and the caption accompanying it read, “Happy 5th birthday to my 4 legged right hand man, my travel buddy, my filming mascot, and the defender of the property, keepin’ all the mystery intruders that aren’t really there out lol Cash “Pig Pig” Fieri.”
Fieri previously had two other dogs — Roxy the mastiff and Cowboy the German Shepherd — but they have both sadly passed away.
We’d like to take this opportunity to wish Smokey a happy eighth birthday and we sincerely hope he was spoiled on his special day (of course, there’s absolutely no doubt that was the case, given how much Fieri clearly loves all of his dogs).
