The holiday season is about to get a sweet and magical upgrade. “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking,” the nostalgia-packed cooking competition, is returning for its second season on Food Network.
As reported by People, the hit series will premiere Sunday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with episodes available the following day on Max and Discovery+.
‘Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking’ Returning Hosts & Magical Guests
This year’s competition brings back fan-favorite hosts James and Oliver Phelps, the real-life twins best known as the Weasley brothers in the “Harry Potter” film franchise. Joining them once again are acclaimed chefs Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef, who will return as judges to evaluate the creativity, skill, and presentation of the contestants’ elaborate bakes.
The Phelps brothers are expected to bring their trademark humor and sibling banter to the competition. Between bakes, the twins will keep the mood light with playful pranks and commentary, making them a highlight for viewers who grew up watching them in the Wizarding World.
The judging panel remains consistent with Carla Hall, known for her charisma and culinary expertise, and Jozef Youssef, whose experimental approach to gastronomy adds a fresh perspective. Together, they will guide the bakers through complex challenges while offering both encouragement and critiques.
Fans can also expect surprise visits from beloved “Harry Potter” alumni. Warwick Davis (Professor Filius Flitwick), Afshan Azad (Padma Patil), and Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan) will stop by to inspire and cheer on the contestants. Their appearances add another layer of nostalgia and excitement for viewers.
‘Wizards of Baking’ Season 2: Challenges Inside the Wizarding World
Eight baking duos will once again be “sorted” into the four Hogwarts houses — Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin — before facing a series of magical dessert challenges. This season, tasks will include edible recreations of Diagon Alley, screaming Mandrake plants, potion-themed pastries, and even a showpiece inspired by Lord Voldemort.
The competition will take place at the Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden lot, where the original “Harry Potter” films were shot. Contestants will bake inside The Great Hall, on Platform 9¾, and along Diagon Alley, transporting both participants and audiences back into the Wizarding World.
In an official press release, Betsy Ayala, Head of Food Content at Warner Bros. Discovery, said the show strikes the perfect balance between culinary excellence and movie magic. “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking brings together perfectly the magic of Harry Potter with the exquisite culinary artistry that exemplifies why Food Network is a holiday destination for viewers each year,” Ayala said. “The next chapter of this delicious competition promises to bring even more joy to fans this holiday season.”
Viewers can catch the Season 2 premiere on Sunday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Food Network, with episodes streaming the following day on Max and Discovery+.
