Two fan favorite Hallmark stars took to social media to celebrate big birthdays for their kids. “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” star Alison Sweeney’s son Benjamin just turned 18 years old, and she was feeling quite reminiscent.
In addition, the youngest son of “Hats Off to Love” star Holly Robinson Peete just celebrated his 21st birthday, and she couldn’t help but revisit the wild story about his entry into the world.
Alison Sweeney Feels ‘Lucky & Grateful’ to Be Her Son Ben’s Mom
On February 25, Sweeney shared a handful of photos on her Instagram page. “It took me forever to narrow it down to these photos – I have a million more to choose from! – to celebrate Ben’s 21st birthday,” she wrote.
Sweeney added, “Ben is such a wonderful, smart, strong, kind & funny man. I’m so lucky & grateful to be his mom. Love you Ben!”
The photos that Sweeney included in her post covered a wide range of highlights from her son’s life so far. Sweeney has two children with her husband, David Sanov. In addition to Ben, the pair has a daughter, Megan.
The first photo that Sweeney shared with fans showed Ben as a baby. Another showed him on the lawn of the White House when he was a young kid, and several others showed him sharing fun experiences with his dad.
Ben clearly loves the outdoors, and has shared some fun moments with his mom on the “Hannah Swensen Mysteries” set.
He also has done some flying with his dad, as two pictures showed Ben posing in front of a small plane with his father as well as manning the controls while in the air.
In less than 24 hours, Sweeney’s sweet post about her son’s birthday had garnered over 20,000 likes and hundreds of comments from fans sending birthday wishes.
Holly Robinson Peete Felt Emotional Over Her Son Roman’s 21st Birthday
As for Robinson Peete, there were several posts on her Instagram page documenting the big milestone.
In her first, shared on February 25, Robinson Peete gushed, “My baby is turning 21 today. Please respect my privacy as I process where the hell all the time went. I will not be taking questions at this time.”
In that initial post, Robinson Peete included a montage of fun moments from Roman Peete’s first 21 years of life.
Just a couple of hours later, Robinson Peete returned to Instagram with another birthday tribute. “I can’t even express the emotion I’m feeling that my youngest son is turning 1 … how is baby Roman 21?”
She shared that her son was celebrating the big birthday in Paris, France, with a group of his friends.
Robinson Peete Has Quite the Story to Tell About the Night Her Son Was Born
Robinson Peete also had to revisit the “damn story” of the night her youngest son was born. She told the story several years ago on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” and reshared a clip of the segment on Instagram.
The night that Roman was born, Robinson Peete had gone to an Oscar Awards party. She admitted she knew she probably shouldn’t have gone, given that she was nine months pregnant.
However, she explained, the event was at a restaurant named Crustacean and “Honey, they served this low down garlic noodles that are so good, right?”
She explained, “So, I went and got the noodles, and it’s an Ebony magazine party, so everyone in Black Hollywood is there, right?”
As she was eating her noodles, Robinson Peete recalled, her water broke.
The moment was caught on film, as there was a photographer there, and she joked that at the time she was mad at him. Now, naturally, she is thrilled to have that experience so thoroughly documented.
Robinson Peete ended up sitting with a tablecloth wrapped around her waist, and she revealed that her water breaking soaked the shoes of the iconic Samuel L. Jackson.
Apparently, to this day, Jackson jokes about being owed a new pair of shoes whenever he runs into her.
An ambulance was called and Robinson Peete was photographed in her fancy black dress on a gurney, holding her Blackberry device.
Jackson and Robinson Peete can joke about that night, and after Hudson asked, the Hallmark alum admitted they probably should have made Jackson the godfather to Roman.
Despite Jackson’s teasing, Robinson Peete explained, “He took my car home that night, he and his wife LaTanya were so lovely.” She included a photo of Roman posing with Jackson at a casual event of some kind, years later. With the photo, she added text reading, “Sorry, Uncle Sam!”
One fan who loved the story commented, “Holly is a true Hollywood IT girl, she has a story or connection to EVERYONE…like she has lived many lives.”
Someone else joked, “I just know Roman is sicka this story.”

I can believe that Holly kept eating after her water broke – she is such a cool person.
