In the upcoming Countdown to Christmas film, “Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story,” current and former Buffalo Bills players share the screen with Hallmark stars like Holland Roden, Andrew Walker, and Matt Daddario. While everyone can’t be expected to be comfortable in front of the camera, several of the NFL players surprised them with their natural talent. And for Roden, one player’s declaration that he had prior acting experience in elementary school was priceless.
Bills Players Charmed ‘Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story’ Cast
While discussing their new film with Buffalo Bills “Inside the Charge,” Roden recalled a funny conversation with safety Damar Hamlin. “He gave the most straight answer when I asked Damar, I said, ‘Oh, do you have any acting experience?’ He goes, ‘Oh yeah, fourth grade, Peter Pan,” she recalled, as Daddario and Walker laughed.
HallmarkWhile she loved his confidence, she was extremely impressed with running back Ray Davis, as were the others. “He felt like an actor,” the “Hollidazed” star said. Daddario agreed.
“He nailed his line, first take, no problem,” he said in awe. “Then the director asked him to adjust, and he adjusted exactly perfectly. Absolutely bizarre.”
Hallmark“Not that Dion [Dawkins] or Damar did not,” Roden added. “They were both lovely, and the scene that Dion Dawkins and Damar Hamlin are in is such a heartfelt scene.”
“I wish there could be, like, a behind-the-scenes of in between the takes of how Dion and Damar were with these kids in this scene,” she continued. “Oh my gosh, your heart melts. It really just shows, not only the heart of those people, but the heart of the Bills at large.”
From Fangirling to Football: Andrew Walker Lists His Favorite Cameos
When it came to their favorite cameos, Walker, who was already a Bills fan, had a few former players on his list. At the top was Jim Kelly, the Bills quarterback who led the team to the Super Bowl four times. Others in his top three were running back Thurman Thomas and wide receiver Andre Reed.
Hallmark“That threesome right there. If I could, I’d be fangirling for sure if I was on set. Maybe that’s the reason why I wasn’t on set with them,” he joked.
However, meeting Coach Sean McDermott was also pretty extraordinary for the “Three Wise Men and a Baby” star. “I think he really is the reason why the Bills are where they are right now, and why I think they will eventually win a championship,” he said confidently.
Hallmark“Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story” premieres November 22 at 8 pm ET/7 pm CT on the Hallmark Channel.
