Erin Cahill Reflects on Own Wedding Ahead of ‘Mom’s the Bride’ Premiere

Hallmark star Erin Cahill is helping brides make their dreams come true in her new series “Mom’s the Bride.” The series follows daughters as they help plan their mother’s dream wedding. Cahill is host of the six-episode series, which premieres on May 7th on Hallmark+.

Seeing all the blushing brides had the “Journey to You” actress feeling nostalgic and reflecting on her 2016 wedding.

While Cahill’s Hallmark movie characters often have trouble finding love, “The Secret Ingredient” actress has found her Prince Charming. The star has been married to musician Paul Freeman since 2016. Now, a decade after their France wedding, Cahill is sharing details about the big day.

“Oh, my gosh. I loved my wedding so much. It was so perfect,” she revealed to Us Weekly. The couple opted to keep their ceremony small with only 20 family members and 15 friends in attendance.

While Cahill loved her small, intimate wedding, there’s one thing she wished she’d done differently. “I wish I had a videographer,” she explained. While the guests did film the festivities on their phones, the actress admits the footage is “grainy.”

Having cameras around to document the mothers and daughters in “Mom’s the Bride” has Cahill feeling a bit envious. “They have so much stuff [on film] and their own videographers and stuff. So that is one thing that I’m like, ‘Oh, I should’ve done that.'”

Despite the lack of footage, Cahill’s wedding was still perfect and a day she and Freeman won’t forget.

After being a bride herself, it’s time for Cahill to take her turn as wedding planner. In “Mom’s the Bride,” Cahill helps a group of daughters prepare a special wedding for their mothers. Each episode promises to be unique with different wedding themes, including a Christmas ceremony and country-themed nuptials.

Seeing the gorgeous weddings come to light will be a fun treat for viewers. But like many Hallmark shows, it’ll also tug at their hearts as they watch the mother-daughter bonds and the mom’s big day.

Weddings are an emotional time for everyone involved, and Cahill admits that she teared up a little. “I didn’t hold it together. I cried every single wedding.”

While she tried to remain calm, the “Holidazed” actress confesses one ceremony pushed her over the edge. “At one of the weddings, I had to fully collect myself, because I was like, ‘This is so beautiful.’ It [shows] what’s possible in relationships.”

Although the ceremonies ended up perfectly, like most wedding planning there were some obstacles. “Logistically, they were all challenging in their own ways,” Cahill revealed. “Just for our crew and making sure that we elevated and added to every wedding and made sure that they came off without a hitch.”

Just like her own wedding, “Mom’s the Bride” ceremonies will be something that Cahill won’t forget. Fans can watch the fun and heartwarming moments unfold when the Hallmark+ show premieres on Thursday, May 7th.
