It’s beginning to sound a lot like Christmas! Wes Brown and Ginna Claire Mason’s new Hallmark holiday movie, “A Newport Christmas,” is just around the corner — premiering on November 2, 2025. But first, the musically-inclined duo has released their first duet together, “Timeless Christmas.”
Mason joked to TV Fanatic that they released the tune on Halloween because it’s “scary good,” but she’s not wrong. The catchy little ditty is a sweet love song inspired by “A Newport Christmas.” Hours after the song became available — from Apple Music to Spotify to YouTube — Mason described the song as “boppy” in an Instagram post and how excited she is that it’s now out in the world.
Wes Brown Says He ‘Stopped Everything’ When He Heard Draft of ‘Timeless Christmas’
Mason and Brown have wanted to collaborate on music together for some time, and they both have the musical chops to do it. She spent several years playing Glinda in the Broadway production of “Wicked” and Brown is a jazz musician who has released multiple albums, including 2024’s “My Kind of Christmas.”
When they were paired up to co-star in Hallmark’s “A Newport Christmas,” the time right to also find the perfect song to perform together.
In her Instagram post, Mason said that while they were filming, she told her friend, songwriter Donna Stuart, about the premise of the movie. The story inspired her to write “Timeless Christmas” and she sent Mason a recording of her singing it, snapping along to the beat. Mason loved it so much she sent it right away to Brown.
Brown told Swooon that he received it while he was in his hotel room and fell in love with the song as soon as he heard it. He said, “I stopped everything I was doing, and I had to text her back and say, ‘Wait, this is the song you want us to do?’ And she goes, ‘Yeah.’ And I was like, ‘Do I need to sign a contract? Because please don’t ask anyone else. Your friend did a phenomenal job writing it.'”
Wes Brown & Ginna Claire Mason Recorded Song Together in Nashville
Brown and Mason filmed “A Newport Christmas” on the East Coast in March and April. After filming wrapped, they headed to Nashville in late April to record “Timeless Christmas.” Mason grew up in Nashville and wanted her favorite producer to work with them on it, she shared in her Instagram post.
Brown posted behind-the-scenes photos on social media of their recording session, writing, “Well, I’m hoping we did something really special this week with an amazing team and the ‘Wicked’ly 💚🖤🧹 talented @ginnaclaire Can’t wait for you to hear it!”
“I’m super pumped,” Brown told Swooon of their song’s release. “It’s so much fun.”
‘A Newport Christmas’ Features a Truly Classic Christmas Tune
“Timeless Christmas” isn’t featured in “A Newport Christmas,” but according to Hallmark, viewers will get to hear crooner Dean Martin singing “It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas,” a classic tune that got cleared to be part of the movie.
In “A Newport Christmas,” per Hallmark’s logline, Mason plays Ella, “a Newport socialite in 1905 who dreams of using her wealth for good. When her father intends for her to get engaged to a man she’s never met at the Christmas Eve ball, Ella takes a breather on her schooner. When she sees a comet, she wishes for a different life. Suddenly, she finds Nick (Brown), a sailor and local Newport historian, aboard her schooner. Suddenly, she realizes she’s traveled to 2025.”
“A Newport Christmas” premieres on Hallmark Channel on November 2 at 8 p.m. Eastern time and will be available to stream on Hallmark+ the following day. “Timeless Christmas” is available via Apple Music, Spotify, and most other music streaming platforms.
