Carpenter’s red carpet run-in with Grande represents a sweet full circle moment for the 26-year-old. Back when she was still an up-and-comer climbing the Hollywood rungs, Carpenter opened a show for Grande during the Brazil stop of the “Dangerous Woman” tour in May 2017, per Seventeen.
Carpenter opened up to Ryan Seacrest after the performance. She said, “It was insane. Her fans are already incredible, but put Brazil into the picture, and it was like I’ve never seen such a crowd.
The starlet went on, “It was incredible and she was amazing. Just the whole show was beautiful.” She praised Grande’s tour for celebrating “so much love and acceptance,” before adding that being a part of it was “just so crazy.”
For Grande’s part, she previously spoofed Carpenter’s most viral hit to date, “Espresso,” in a humorous SNL wedding reception skit, thrilling fans.
In the YouTube comments of the skit, one fan wrote, “They completely NAILED the awkward singing/dancing, this kind of song has absolutely happened at more than one wedding.”
Another said, “The fact that Sabrina is a part of this universe now is everything to me for some reason!”
