Britney Spears Reconnects With Sons Amid Major Life Challenges

Pop icon Britney Spears is focusing on the silver lining amid the ongoing challenges in her personal life. After her arrest in March, she chose to enter rehab to focus on getting well.

The path to recovery may be long and arduous, but sources close to the singer reveal she’s focusing on the positives. Britney Spears has taken the opportunity to reconnect with her sons and make amends.

Britney Spears’ Sons Encouraged Her to Get Well Again

Having a family in the public eye is no easy task. However, Britney Spears wanted the best for her sons, no matter what life threw at them. As adults, Jayden James and Sean Preston have opted to move closer to their mother for her well-being.

Amid the singer’s rehab stay, a source close to the family spoke out about the relationship dynamics. The brothers are supporting their mother’s decision to get well and absolutely want what is best for her.

“When she’s not in a good place, it’s almost impossible for her to maintain any kind of steady connections,” a source told PEOPLE this week. “She wants to be a good mom though. She really loves Preston and Jayden and listens to them. For Britney, it’s amazing that she gets to spend time with them again. It makes her very happy.”

“People around her do care a lot and are constantly trying to support her, but it can be difficult,” the source continued. “There have been a lot of concerns since the arrest.”

Naturally, the singer felt “very upset and shaken” following her March 4 arrest, as per the source. They noted Britney’s sons Preston and Jayden supported their mother choosing rehab.

“They’ve been clear with her,” the source claimed about the singer’s sons. “They just want her to be healthy.”

The Source Believes Ending the Conservatorship Started the Unraveling

Britney Spears was under a conservatorship from 2008-2021. Fans famously marched and campaigned for the conservatorship to end.

The source told PEOPLE that “life [for Britney] was more structured and more stable” because she had “people guiding decisions and making sure things stayed on track.”

“With her independence, you started to see more instability in her day-to-day life,” the source added.

Hopefully, with love and support from her sons and other family members, Britney Spears will successfully overcome her challenges.
