The oldest son of John Lennon, the iconic late member of The Beatles, has revealed some concerning health news with the world.

Musician, photographer, filmmaker, author, and philanthropist Julian Lennon, 63 — whose mother was the British artist and author Cynthia Lennon — was just 17 when his superstar father passed away. John Lennon was shot dead in New York City by American Beatles fanatic Mark David Chapman on the night of 8 December 1980. He was just 40 years old at the time.

Following Julian Lennon’s recent diagnosis, which Parade described as “devastating,” he took to his Instagram account on Sunday, May 10, to share his news with his 363,000 followers.

The post comprised six photographs, all taken out in nature, one of which had Lennon himself in it.

Lennon’s caption on the post read, “After being diagnosed with Coronary Heart Disease & a Pre-Diabetic, I urge all to get checked out sooner than later, as you never know what hidden health issues you may have, even after exercising and eating as much ‘good/healthy’ food as possible.

The caption went on, “Nip it in the bud! As they say…”

It continued, “Even with these ailments, I’ve managed to catch them early enough, to be able to reverse some of the damage and will hopefully be able to live a healthy long life!”

Lennon then pleaded with his followers, “Please get checked out, before you’re checked out… ❤️🙏🏼😘”

The caption concluded, “And last but not least, thanks to all the Doctors who have helped and guided me on this new journey so far… Truly 🙏🏼 x.”

While Lennon’s news is undoubtedly scary, it’s also positive that his conditions were caught early.
