Co-written with Paul Cantor, the book will trace Lil Jon’s journey from his early days in Atlanta to becoming one of the most influential figures in hip-hop and pop music. The memoir will explore his start as a DJ in local clubs, his time working as an A&R at So So Def Recordings under Jermaine Dupri, and the rise of Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz.

A major focus of the memoir is the recent loss of his son, Nathan Smith, known professionally as DJ Young Slade, who passed away in early 2026. Lil Jon has spoken about the deep impact of that loss, sharing that he and his family remain proud of Nathan’s life and legacy.
“We loved Nathan with all of our hearts and are incredibly proud of him,” he shared, adding that they find comfort in having expressed that love in their final moments together.”
