Nathan Smith, 27, was reported missing after he was last seen leaving his home in Milton, Georgia, under unusual circumstances. As per NBC, Police later confirmed that his body was found in a pond near the residence.
Authorities said foul play was not suspected. The medical examiner is responsible for determining the official cause and manner of death.
In an earlier statement, as reported by NBC, Jon confirmed the devastating news, writing:
“I am extremely heartbroken for the tragic loss of our son, Nathan Smith. His mother (Nicole Smith) and I are devastated,” Lil Jon wrote. “Nathan was the kindest human being you would ever meet. He was immensely caring, thoughtful, polite, passionate, and warmhearted — he loved his family and the friends in his life to the fullest.”
“He was an amazingly talented young man; a music producer, an artist and engineer, and a graduate of NYU,” the statement said.
An NYU spokesperson confirmed that Nathan earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Tisch School of the Arts in 2020.
