Meghan Trainor’s Best Friend Bravely Stands Up For Musician After She Canceled Upcoming Tour

Singer Meghan Trainor just canceled her upcoming tour, seemingly out of nowhere.

Naturally, many fans felt extremely disappointed in the decision. While some expressed worry and concern for Meghan, others lashed out online.

Now, Meghan Trainor’s close friend Chris Olsen has come forward and wants the naysayers to back down. See what he had to say in defense of the singer.

Chris Olsen Feels Saddened By the Hate Meghan Trainor Received This Week

Amid the controversial decision to cancel the tour, Chris Olsen wants everyone to give Meghan Trainor some grace. He uploaded a new TikTok, noting that he “needed to rant” in the captino.

“So I guess now it’s become public knowledge that Megan Trainor has canceled her tour, and on one of the posts that was saying that that happened, the comment section was predictably vicious,” Chris addressed the public. “And this is a bigger conversation than just her and people’s feelings towards Meghan or whatever they want to say about it, it’s the state of things online and how that comment section was, as I said, predictably vicious.”

The 28-year-old content creator acknowledged that most comment sections aren’t kind. However, he doesn’t understand what hatred and cruelty achieves. Regardless, rude comments don’t accomplish anything or lead Meghan Trainor to change her mind.

“Because sure, the goal might be to make other people laugh because you’re saying something that’s mean, but you think is funny,” Chris continued. “The goal could be to hurt the person you’re commenting toward. If you’re trying to be hurtful, what is the goal in hurting that person? Just to hurt them, and then you go about your day and that’s that, or is it to hurt them and hope that makes them do something about it?”

He concluded the video by noting that the ongoing hatred made him extremely sad and disappointed.

The Pop Star Wants to Focus on Her Family Right Now

As the mother of three young children, Meghan Trainor has a lot on her plate at all times. She cited her family as the reason for abruptly canceling the tour this year.

“After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel The Get In Girl Tour,” the 32-year-old addressed fans on social media. “Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now, and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time.”

She went on to acknowledge the disappointed fans and hoped they’d stick around for her upcoming album.

The new album, “Toy With Me,” is expected to be released on April 24, 2026.
