Michael Jackson‘s fans got emotional after hearing the music icon’s voice on a new single called “The Breeze” that was released by his 28-year-old daughter Paris on Saturday, August 29. At the 2:40 mark, a recording of the King of Pop’s voice appears and says twice, “I love you Paris,” before Paris’ childhood voice replies, “I love you.”
The song’s lyrics show it is clearly about missing someone, and many fans are theorizing the subject is Paris’ late father, who died on June 25, 2009. The single’s cover is a photo of Paris sitting in a swing as a baby, and the track begins with the lyrics, “Is that you, hidden in the breeze? Can you hear me, I’m on my knees?”
The haunting track goes on to ask, “Can we just talk? For a second please? Just a sliver, a little piece.”
A fan commented on YouTube, “She misses her father so much. You can hear and feel the pain in her voice. I do wish her the best in life. The ending where Michael talks to her is heartbreaking.”

Paris Jackson Released 2 Songs on Michael’s Birthday
On the same day as “The Breeze,” the model released another song, “Just Me and You.” Both tracks were released on August 29, 2026, which would have been The King of Pop’s 68th birthday.
In an Instagram post discussing the song, Paris explained that the track is “not a tribute” or a “commemoration.” Instead, she revealed “it is a letter. it is a poem of the sonic variety. it is my honest experience — with love, loss, and para-social relationships vs a personal one.”
Soon after the two drops, Paris appeared on The Zane Lowe Interview Series and shared how the idea formed for “The Breeze.” She said, “I think what really sparked the idea to write the song to begin with was this really beautiful poem that Andy showed me.” She may have been referencing musician Andy Hull, whom she tagged in a clip of the interview she reposted.
Paris said the poem is about a person who spent his entire life in search for God, only to find out at the end of his life that it was there the entire time, and contains references to “the million masks of God.”
She added, “I really do believe in energies. I believe that once it’s over, it’s not really over.” She said despite scientific knowledge about how humans are designed to “look for patterns,” she is holding to her beliefs and has had “some pretty unexplainable experiences.” She added that she believes she sees the “Rock With You” singer in butterflies.
