‘We’re 2 Peas in a Pod’: Paris Jackson on Reconnecting With Debbie Rowe

Paris had one way to describe it. “Happy Mother’s Day to the lady they used for my template during the cloning process,” she wrote in the caption.

The post gave fans a warm and funny window into a bond that has not always been easy or public.

Paris and Rowe were famously estranged for years before gradually finding their way back to each other.

Their reconnection deepened after Rowe was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017. Since then, Paris has spoken openly about what the relationship has come to mean to her.

In a 2021 appearance on “Red Table Talk With Willow Smith,” Paris reflected on getting to know her mother as an adult and discovering just how much the two have in common.

“Getting to know her, seeing how similar we are, finding out what kind of music she likes…” Paris said, as reported by E! News. “We’re two peas in a pod … It’s so amazing to have her as a friend.”

The road to that friendship was a long one. In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Paris spoke candidly about what it was like to grow up without Rowe in her life.

“When I was really, really young, my mom didn’t exist,” she said, explaining that she had asked her late father Michael Jackson about her biological mother after realizing a man cannot birth a child.

“By the time my mom came into my life, it wasn’t a ‘mommy’ thing. It’s more of an adult relationship,” Paris added.

That adult relationship has clearly grown into something she values deeply. The Mother’s Day post was as warm and genuine as any she has shared.

Paris Jackson Distances Herself From Dad Michael Jackson’s Biopic ‘Michael’

The Mother’s Day tribute comes as the Jackson name continues to dominate headlines for a different reason.

The Antoine Fuqua-directed biopic Michael has been in wide release, with several members of the Jackson family attending the premiere, including siblings Prince Jackson and Bigi Jackson. Paris has not been among them.

She revealed in September 2025 that she had no involvement in the film.

“They’re gonna make whatever they’re gonna make,” Paris said, as reported by Forbes. “The film panders to a very specific section of my dad’s fandom that still lives in a fantasy, and they’re gonna be happy with it.”

On Sunday, May 11, none of that was the focus. It was just Paris and her mom, laughing about how much they look alike and celebrating what they have built together.
