Zayn Malik Forced to Cancel TV Appearance After Scary Hospitalization, Health Battle

Zayn Malik was forced to cancel his upcoming appearance on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon” after a recent hospitalization, according to TMZ.

The former One Directioner was scheduled to sit down with the comedian for the Tuesday, April 21, broadcast to promote his new album, “Konnakol.”

Zayn Malik Hospitalized

Malik took to social media on Friday, April 17, to share an update on his health.

“To my fans — Thank you to all of you for your love and support now and always — been a long week and am still unexpectedly recovering,” he shared via his Instagram Story along with a photo from his hospital bed. “Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week, I wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys and am so thankful for your understanding.”

He continued, “Thank you to the incredible hospital staff of Drs, nurses, cardiologist, management, admin and everyone who has helped along the way and continue to. You are all legends! Big big love xx z.”

While the “Dusk Till Dawn” artist has not publicly shared details on his latest health battles, TMZ reported that he has pulled out of multiple appearances. In addition to Fallon, Malik has reportedly fan meet-and-greets and other album press.

“We’re told the decision came down to doctor’s orders, and he’s now seeking further treatment from what’s being described as the number one cardiologist in the world,” the outlet reported.

Malik’s “Tonight Show” appearance is the second cancellation for the artist in a week.

He was set to take the stage at Circuit in Kingston on Monday, April 13, for an intimate evening featuring new music from his latest album and a fan Q&A.

Event organizers announced the cancellation one day before, with a message shared via Instagram.

“Gutted to say Monday’s ZAYN events are postponed due to illness – we send our best wishes to him for a speedy recovery,” the announcement read.

Zayn Malik’s Upcoming Solo Tour

While the singer — who shares 5-year-old daughter Kai with ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid — continues to tend to his health, he is scheduled to kick off his first solo headline arena tour in May.

“Announcing THE KONNAKOL TOUR, my first ever headline arena & stadium tour,” he announced via Instagram in February.

The tour kicks off in the United Kingdom and Ireland before heading to Mexico in June. He’s slated to tour the United States this summer, head to South America in October, and make his way back to the States in November.
