A much-loved crime drama is coming back to Netflix, almost two years after its first season hit the subscription-based streaming service.
“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder,” based on Holly Jackson’s 2019 novel of the same name, aired for six episodes in July 2024. It proved a hit with critics and fans alike. The first season — starring the likes of “Wednesday” actress Emma Myers, Zain Iqbal, Asha Banks, and Henry Ashton — boasts an impressive Rotten Tomatoes approval rating of 83%.
Per IMDb, the series’ plot is as follows: “Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend, Sal Singh, who then killed himself. It was all anyone could talk about. And five years later, she (Emma Myers’ Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi) can’t shake the feeling that there was more to what happened that day.”
According to Netflix, Misia Butler, Eden H. Davies, and Jack Rowan are joining the cast for season 2.

The comments section on the post was teeming with joyful reactions.

The post featured another picture of Emma Myers’ Pippa “Pip” Fitz-Amobi, with six internet users’ excited posts about the new season pasted over it.
This one was captioned, “Sometimes, the answer is hiding in plain sight #agggtmS2.”
Five of the six commented pasted on the image have five likes. It led fans to develop theories and ask questions about the number five.
One curious fan asked, “What’s with the number 5?”
Another fan mused, “Guessing May 5 the trailer drops.”
Someone else quipped, “guys i’m not smart enough for this someone else figure it out and lmk,” to which another user replied, “almost all of those comments have 5 likes. 5 days from now is May 5th. Is at least my theory.”
Of course, tomorrow happens to be May 5, which is the fifth day of the fifth month. Could the number five have been suggesting the season 2 trailer is dropping tomorrow? Could the number five have a significant role in the plot of season two of “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder?”
We’ll just have to wait to find out.
One thing’s for sure, though: We’re incredibly excited to see season 2. All six episodes will hit Netflix on May 27.
