The writer/producer/director/actor has created hit after hit at the box office, and now he is becoming a prolific entity on streaming, especially in light of his popular Netflix series, Beauty in Black.
Since the debut of the provocative drama, Netflix subscribers have been nearly obsessed with the Bellarie family and Kimmie (Taylor Polidore) as they take family feuding to a whole new level of betrayal, treachery, and deadly schemes. Heck, the intrigue among fans has been so heavy that viewership numbers for the series in Season 2 saved it from being cancelled, ensuring that Season 4 of the show is on the way.
Fast forward to the release of Beauty in Black Season 3 on August 27, and it appears as if many viewers have already powered through the latest batch of episodes and are demanding to know what happens next. However, judging by Perry’s social media post on September 2, it could be a little while before more episodes come.

On the first slide, he is sitting on the beach relaxing, on slide two is a screenshot of a story titled “Netflix’s Revival of Canceled Tyler Perry Crime Thriller Is One of the Biggest Shows on Streaming,” and slide three is another screenshot of a story titled “Tyler Perry’s Latest Show Is Dominating on Streaming with New Season.”
While the slides are certainly celebrating the success of Beauty in Black Season 3, it’s Perry’s caption that you’re likely to find most interesting. Perry wrote:
“Y’all so funny won’t even let me take a break!! Don’t worry I heard you. I’m writing season 4 of Beauty in Black as we speak. 🤣🤣🤣 . But you gotta watch Why Did I Get Married Again and Doing Life they are so good!!”
Based on this statement, it sounds like Beauty in Black supporters may want to exercise some patience, as they’ll have to wait to see who winds up on top in the series’ final season.
‘Why Did I Get Married Again’ & ‘Doing Life’ Premiere Soon
Looking at Perry’s suggestion, it’s worth noting that Why Did I Get Married Again arrives on Netflix on September 9, while Doing Life lands on the platform on October 2. Why Did I Get Married Again is the third film in the movie franchise and follows the core group of friends (sans Janet Jackson’s Patricia) as they unite for the wedding of Marcus (Michael Jai White) and Angela’s (Tasha Smith) daughter.
Meanwhile, Doing Life creates a completely new movie universe. It tells the story of how Anika (Naomi Baker), a former prison officer and single mother, falls in love with Carousel (Jay Reeves), a reformed ex-convict who once saved her during a violent prison riot. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, based on this information, that this romantic journey is nothing short of complex.
