One of the stars of “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans” who has now been eliminated from the series has spoken out after being branded the “dumbest player” in the competition by a fellow castaway.
Charlie Davis was recently voted out of the latest season of “Survivor” after a failed attempt to turn the tables on Rizo Velovic. His actions led to Dee Valladares turning against her fellow Kalo tribemate and then saying, “I actually thought Charlie was the most dangerous player here, but I actually think he’s the dumbest player here.”
Following his departure, Davis has now reacted to those comments.
Charlie Davis Reacts to Dee Valladares’ Comments After His Elimination
In an exit interview with Entertainment Weekly, Davis was asked how he felt after what Valladares said about him at Tribal Council.
“I mean, not, not great,” he explained. “It wasn’t super-fun to hear. What I’ll say is I think Dee and I were playing very different games, and I hoped and thought all along that I was working with Dee and thought that I would continue to work with Dee.”
He added, “I considered her a really tight ally out there. And probably a little bit of a blind spot, because I knew her outside the game before the game. So I just didn’t really have it in my mind to target her at all. But I think when we were actually out there, we just didn’t sync up that much.”
“And I think you kind of have to know that to understand the relationship with Dee,” Davis said. “That’s why I thought we were fine. I thought we had an alliance, and I think some of my gameplay was putting her off a little bit.”
He concluded, “It was not super-fun to have Dee be like ‘the dumbest player out here.’ But honestly, I’m grateful to be part of the season. And I don’t hold any grudges or anything.”
Jeff Probst Says He Won’t Host A Different Reality Show
Host and showrunner Jeff Probst has been a constant on “Survivor,” hosting every one of the 50 seasons across more than 25 years. However, he has now revealed that he has no plans to ever work on a different reality series.
During a speech at The Paley Museum in New York City, Probst said, “For me, I made a conscious decision years ago, I don’t want to have another show.”
He went on to say, “You know, people start saying, ‘We should do something else.’ No, I want every single idea I have to go into this show because this is the show I work on.”
