Singer and musician Cruz Beckham, the son of David and Victoria Beckham, has had a major fanboy moment in recent days.
Cruz, 21, met actor Steve Carell, 63, on the set of a Lay’s potato chips commercial for the brand’s FIFA World Cup 2026 “No Lay’s, No Game” campaign. His dad, 51, was working on the set at the time. Other stars featuring in the campaign include football legends Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry, and Alexia Putellas.
Carell is, of course, best known for his starring role in the NBC sitcom “The Office.” (per IMDb). Other television shows he’s famous for include the comedy series “Space Force” and “Rooster.” Movies he’s best known for include “Bruce Almighty,” “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,” “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” “Foxcatcher” (for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor), and the “Despicable Me” franchise, in which he voices Gru.
David Beckham’s youngest son was visiting his dad on the Lay’s set when he was introduced to Carell. The adorable moment was captured on camera and has been uploaded to social media.

The 30-second video of Cruz Beckham being introduced to Steve Carell by his father was uploaded to David Beckham’s TikTok account for his eight million followers to enjoy on Wednesday, May 27.
The video is captioned, “Can you tell we were excited to meet Steve AKA Michael Scott? 😂🎬 @Cruz Beckham.”
In this video, David calls Cruz over and says “Cruz is the biggest fan of Steve, by the way.” The former Manchester United and Real Madrid player then adds, “Well, we both are!”
Cruz then bashfully wanders over and says, “I’ve never been starstruck,” to which David adds, “me either!” Carell then jokingly says “how disappointing,” playing down his effect on the Beckhams.
David then proclaims, “I’ve never been so excited to be on a set!”
The trio then pose for a photograph together, with David ensuring he and Cruz were either side of Carell, so they could both be next to him. Cruz then jokes his father had done that so he could easily crop him out of the picture, before making an open-mouthed starstruck face to convey his excitement.
David Beckham’s followers flocked to the comments section of the video to have their say on the meeting.
