Hannah Waddingham may have a new romance in her life.
The “Ted Lasso” star, 51, turned heads when she arrived at the famous Cheltenham Festival on Friday, March 13 holding hands with spine surgeon Nick Beresford-Cleary, sparking speculation about a possible new relationship.
The pair appeared comfortable together as they made their way through the event and later watched the races from a VIP box.
The two looked relaxed and happy in each other’s company, with Waddingham often seen smiling while staying close to the doctor, according to The Sun.
For the outing, Waddingham embraced classic countryside style, wearing a chic plaid suit from Holland Cooper.
The elegant look fit perfectly with the polished atmosphere of the prestigious racing event.
A Potential New Relationship
The appearance marks a potentially new chapter in Waddingham’s personal life.
The Emmy-winning actress has largely kept her dating life private since ending her longtime relationship with Italian businessman Gianluca Cugnetto in 2022.
The couple had been together for nearly a decade and share a daughter, born in 2014.
Since the breakup, Waddingham has spoken candidly about her dating life — or lack of one.
During a 2024 appearance on the “Talking to the Table for Two” podcast, she joked that her romantic life had become somewhat nonexistent due to her busy schedule and high standards.
“I’m so busy and just a bit picky,” she admitted at the time.
What Waddingham Looks for in a Partner
The actress also shared the type of partner she hopes to find someday.
“I want a guy that scoops me up and goes, ‘I’ve got you, I don’t care if you’ve got your make-up on or not, I’m happy to lie in bed with you and have Marmite on toast and a glass of milk,’” she said. “And just be a lovely positive, charismatic soul.”
Waddingham also joked that she has become more selective about relationships as she has gotten older.
“I’m 50 and I’m like, ‘Dude, if you are not going to step up, step off and be gone. Sod off until someone fabulous comes along,’” she said.
The actress added that she would rather spend time with close friends than settle for the wrong partner.
“I’d rather hang with my girlfriends and gay friends and be respected,” she said.
While Waddingham has not publicly commented on the Cheltenham appearance, the affectionate outing with Beresford-Cleary has certainly caught fans’ attention.
